Should it not be "...I finish..." in there? They is a very ambiguous term, and has no antecedent.

Writers block is a life-threatening blocking of the respirative system caused by the Trachea collapsing. This in turn is triggered by consumption of large amounts of alcohol, which is a well-known pass-time of writers. Hence, writers block.
