It's obvious this article was written by someone who has never used a record player. Records only skip and make sharp hisses and pops if its surface has been scratched or is very dirty. Take this from someone who has a huge LP collection. You're making it sound like they skip and sound terrible on purpose. Granted, music on vinyl isn't perfect but it does provide a rich and warm sound.

  • The hiss at the beginning is accurate; I've found they DO tend to hiss a lot at the very beginning. The jumps and skips are just for humor's sake. -Tritefantastic 19:47, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
  • You're absolutely correct. You'd think this was a humour site or something. - Amy Rose 14:18, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
  • I thought that was the only particularly funny bit of the article. Maybe rewriting the rest with that theme will make the article worth *switches turntable off* reeeaaaaaaaaddddddddddddddiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggggg.
