Isn't there something missing in the last frame? Sir SockySexy girls Mermaid with dolphin Tired Marilyn Monroe (talk) (stalk)Magnemite Icons-flag-be GUN SotM UotM PMotM UotY PotM WotM 11:09, 6 January 2012

Many Lego instructions have a alternate set-up thingy at the end. The final image is a different set-up. Pup 11:39 06 Jan '12
Well, sure, but it has three sides connecting the top and bottom squares instead of four. Or is that what you mean by "a different set-up"? Sir SockySexy girls Mermaid with dolphin Tired Marilyn Monroe (talk) (stalk)Magnemite Icons-flag-be GUN SotM UotM PMotM UotY PotM WotM 14:41, 6 January 2012
Yah. The column at the back base appears to be supporting the corner at the front top. The main setup is a cubic setup that only works when an image is rendered from a 3/4 view, or thereabouts. The alternate setup is more like a Penrose triangle which can only be done on a 45 degree view. It's a completely different form of optical illusion. Pup 11:49 06 Jan '12
Or to put it another way, the main illusion is similar to Wikipedia:Belvedere (M. C. Escher), whereas that last image is more like Wikipedia:Waterfall (M. C. Escher). Pup 11:53 06 Jan '12
This is so mind-twisty that when I get high next I'll stop by and spend some time glassy eyed and frothing at the mouth looking at this page and the whole article. That's why I suggested continued work on it - a masterpiece in the making right in front of our eyes. Not high though, so I can't truly appreciate it (when I'm on grass every movie is "the best movie ever made", and if it's bad and the worst movie ever made it's still fun because it's the worst movie ever made!).
