The image of the girl is kawaii Richardson j 05:21, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
I found that there exists an article Kawaii Seizure, but it is a piece of crap, and it is unlikely to improve because its creator is currently serving a prolonged block. Does anyone have suggestions on whether or not to add this here? --Pentium5dot1 t~^_^~c 06:59, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
- I presume there is consensus not to add the link. Is it okay if I send Kawaii Seizure to VFD? --Pentium5dot1 t~^_^~c 00:40, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
edit What the word really means
Cross-posted from a certain page in my userspace (which isn't worth naming here). Don't worry about replying unless you have a definite idea on how to work this info into the article; I'm just leaving this here for us to think about later.
The word "kawaii" is not an exact translation for "cute." It means specifically "cute in a childlike (i.e. neotenous) sense, pretty, adorable." The quasi-literal translation often given is "lovable"; this refers to motherly love and not sexual love. In some contexts it connotes "pathetic" or "pitiful"; the details are too complicated to explain here (see , and wikipedia:Cuteness in Japanese culture#Linguistics).
edit Regarding recent IP edits
I reverted several recent IP edits to this article since I couldn't figure out why such major changes were made without discussion. Admittedly, those edits constitute a major rewrite of better quality than the typical IP-cruft, but they run counter to HTBFANJS in that they overuse conspiracy-theory clichés. I have not posted to the talk pages of the involved IPs since they seem to be dynamic. The previous text is here; any suggestions on how to incorporate some of this material into the article? --Pentium5dot1 t~^_^~c 06:10, November 23, 2009 (UTC)
