'Most males find this uncomfortably similar to necrophilia.' HAHAHA! So true, so true!! 18:13, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

I thought this was funny but depressing too; I hope nobody anorexic reads that last bit because even if this page is meant to be a joke, it would still trigger an anorexic. Hell, I've been recovered from anorexia for close to five years now and it made me feel kind of crappy. But it's my fault for looking at this page, anyway... good job though, overall. --Littlemaggie01 03:00, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Hmmm - yeah. I agree somewhat - the joke quoted above was funnier imho....as well as having the effect of portraying anorexia in a bad light which is good :) ResidentEthel 00:02, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Use as a redirect target?

I just noticed that hunger, hungry, famine, and starvation are broken due to the deletion of an article covering their topic. Perhaps we could redirect some of them here?

Should some of the redirects go instead to Africa or one of its countries, or would that be too biased? What about to poverty? --Pentium5dot1|t~^_^~c 04:53, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

OOPS! I think I may have the wrong eating disorder in mind here. Further discussion should go to this draft of a disambig page. --Pentium5dot1|t~^_^~c 05:01, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Sorry

I dnt wanna seem really annoying, but dont you think there is a line between comedy and cruelty. This is making fun of mental illness. Anorexia Nervosa is not a trend or something teenagers do for a few weeks its a mental disorder with the highest mortality rate. 1 in 5 die The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.46.81.155 (talk • contribs)

Listen

Okay, everyone listen up for a second! Anorexia IS a mental illness unfortunatley. It is a disorder that can change lives forever, in good AND bad ways. For example; Lets just imagine that you're in highschool. Everyone is either obese or anorexic. And you're one of the fatties. All the popular girls are all skinny and pretty and get everything handed to them on a silver platter. No one wants to be friends with you or even LOOK at you. What would you do? To some the answer is obvious. "Who cares if you're a little big? Be strong and be happy about who you are! Don't listen to them!" While to others you might be thinking, "Do you wanna be beautiful and get noticed? Then BE like them! It's not that hard to be perfect! All you need to do is try!" Now, to me, those would be pretty persuasive arguments. Because to me if I wanted to, right now I could listen to one or the other sides and follow it's message like a child chasing butterflies. Both sides are correct in many ways. But unfortunatley It doesn't matter what way you put it. Anorexia has been known to take the lives of young teenage girls all over the world. Sure it's gotten a few fatties laid and made them attractive in a bikkini for the first time in all thier misserable lives, in fact I myself USED to be really fat, but now I'm thin, popular, gorgeous, and if anything, perfect! I'm exactly what and who I wanted to be two years ago, and I am not letting some ignorrant little sluts ruin that for me by saying shit like, "What you're doing is wrong, you should just be happy." I AM HAPPY SO BACK THE FUCK OFF! It CAN be a lifestyle but only if you CHOOSE it to be that way. Anorexia is not for the weak, it is for only the strongest of strong who can actually get a clear understanding on what exactly it is they're doing. You CANNOT make a false claim to be anorexic without an understanding on what anorexia to them IS! Anorexia, is for those who know what it is they're doing and accept it. There is no right or wrong, you just have to know what you're doing and why. If you're anorexic then HIP HIP HORAY FOR YOU!! If you're not anorexic then get out of our buisness. There used to be fat bitch that would stare at me from the other side of the mirror. She used to haunt my dreams and tease me about my weight. But then a little birdy taught me how to get rid of her, and so that's exactly what I did. I am NOT going to be the fat sweaty girl that sits at the back of the class scribbling in her book and hoping not to be seen. If that's you, then listen to me when I say you can do waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy better than that. Say bye byes to Hungry Jacks and MacDonalds and say hellooo to FREEDOM!!!I myself am anorexic, and so far so good, but to all those out there who want to aswell, good luck!! WHOOP WHOOP ANOREXIAA!!! (oh and by the way, just thought I'd put out there, I'm thirteen)!!!
