Posted by Konk
from the it's-not-really-theft dept.

WhiningUser writes:

The LA Times reports that 'Independent software authors have attacked Microsoft's decision to keep the Windows source code closed and proprietary, raising concerns about the ethics of this practice. However, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer claimed that releasing the code would be be "financially ruinous" for the company.'

You might remember a completely different recent story about Windows, or this same story from earlier today.
