Once upon a time, so long ago, in 2933 BC, when South America and Africa were still joined by superglue, there were two superior minds. Each located in each continent. Surprisingly enough, they had no telepathic powers whatsoever. They used very long strings attached to cans to communicate, but every time it broke, an inferior mind could put one end of the string in his head and he could hack the system. People would find out things like the meaning of like, or that weird secret now stored in the vatican.

Shoulder to Shoulder Communication is a system in which via soft and hard shoulder compressions, binary code can be sent. This relied on the fact that there were millions of people that were idle 24/7 to be used as cable parts in an almost infinite row to from the sender to the receiver.
One person at one side, next to Mind Alpha receives signals in 0's and 1'. Then, if a 1 was sent, this guy will squeeze hard the shoulder of the other guy, and he will send it to the next one, etc.
When though it sends messages to Mind Beta through a cable of people, it takes way too freaking long.

Actually, to send a simple 'hello' across the ocean took a long time. In binary code, 'hello' has like 46 digits, being spelt Hhehhhheeellllllllloooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Making it 4 digits long would make it impossible to pronounce or read.
So sending a letter took ages, and suppoing that this huge line of people were alive in the ocean for that long 8mart those minds, how do they kep em alive o long?)

No weak hearted can do good in thi job- since ship were invented several ship related accidents involving people cables have happened. Ships constantly crash into the people, but some actually make the ship bounce back.

200 million years ago, the world's skies were infested with peanut butter jelly sandwiches, so, to survive, people had to propell themselves 10 feet into the air. So, a pèanut butter jelly sandwich diet allows the people to be more fat, therefore more buyoant. This long line of fat people disrupted the ocean currents and caused an ice age.

Later it became too hard to mantain fat oceanic people, so the minds used their powers to alter the fat molecules, turning the people into baboons. This worked well for 70 years, because we all know that baboons are powered, get their energy from salt water, so it was productive.
Then they got overloaded with energy and vanished.
