A mailbox postin up

Postin up (verb) - 1) the act of chilling, most often in a standing position, in an attempt to look sweet and/or cool. More often than not, you can see people postin up in the big city at night or on weekends. Postin up often occurs under light-posts, next to mailboxes, or adjacent to large buildings or monuments. 2) The occupation or sidejob for black male bus drivers. They are most commonly found postin up outside of St. Augustine barber shops.

[edit] History

The art of postin' up was originated in Paris, France during the renaissance. Experts are not entirely sure who first developed this devious tactic, but popular belief tells us that this move was first made popular by the imfamous Flava Flav. After he began using the "post up" to reel in fine bitches, the Flava Flav faithful began imitating their idol in order to attract a more sightly lady-friends.

200 years after its invention the art of posting was outlawed by the Tyrant Queen Elizabeth of England. She said that posting up was sexist against women. Fortunately for us, Flava Flav smacked some sense into that bitch until she died. Flava then legalized the act of posting once again.

[edit] Today

Today you can see "'mailboxes" as they are called, posting up all around town. A mailbox is a person who is committing the act of postin up, because they are postin up like a mailbox. These mailboxes often have lineage that somehow relates them to Flava. In modern day Houston, you can find caucasian rapper Paul Wall constantly postin up. You can also find Mr. Pete postin up against is mustang, in the big city (St. Augustine).
