Multivariable Calculus is the most dangerous force in all of academia. Many scientists have died merely thinking about expanding on this subject. A little-known survival instinct takes over when a person unwittingly thinks about things that will cause much pain to millions. The instinct is called the "Mercy Gene" aka "Left Hand of Baby Jesus". The process is described as the nervous system realizing how potentially dangerous the current thoughts of said scientist are and then causes a brain aneurysm immediately resulting in instant death. The reason that the instinct has not worked to actually defer genocides is that various successful dictators never actually put any thought into murdering millions of people; they just did it because it was the flavor of the week.
