Looney Tunes: Back in Action
From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia.
Looney Tunes Back in Action is a Hybrid Live-Action/Animation Movie just like "Space Jam", but unlike Space Jam, there's nothing about basketball or Lola Bunny's "Bunnie Boobies" so yeah, this film wasn't that memorable.

[edit] Plot
DJ Drake (Played by Brendan Fraser) wants to be like his grandfather Ludwig von Drake, who once worked with Looney Tunes as a psychiatrist until 1954 when he accidently burned half of the films (One of them was "The Jazz Singer"), but they had backups in the Water Tower. As punishment, Ludwig von Drake either had to stay in the WB Tower with the Animaniacs...or work somewhere else (and that was when Disney was hiring). DJ tried everything to be a good psychiatrist and even went to school for it, but his girlfriend insisted that he becomes a Secret Agent like James Bond.
Meanwhile, Daffy Duck complains to Mr. Plotz that he was getting tired of being the second-banana to Bugs Bunny. So he gets fired and steals the Batmobile. But then DJ sees the WB Water Tower collapse because Daffy drives into it with the Batmobile. Then Mr. Plotz fires DJ for following The Good Samaritan Law and then DJ would hang out with Daffy. Bugs Bunny sees this too and he asks Kate "Hello Nurse" Houghman (Played by Jenna Elfman) to bring Daffy back since Donald Duck couldn't get the lines right and was very incoherent. Kate gets fired eventually because she couldn't dress Bugs Bunny's wounds after Bugs got shot by Elmer Fudd. So Kate tries to find Daffy.
DJ goes back to his place and gets yelled at his landlady Ms. Peeman because he ruined her new carpet. As DJ was watching cartoons by Tex Avery, Daffy finds out that DJ's father Damian Drake was famous too by being Agent 007 and the tape that DJ was watching had some secret stuff in the end and it was his father's Secret Spy Stuff and the Holy Grail. Both DJ and Daffy go to the Casino Royale in Las Vegas where DJ's father (Played by Michael Caine lives and they see that Dusty Trails (played by Jessica Rabbit) was DJ's mother as well as a spy who could find the Holy Grail. But then Yosemite Sam catches DJ and Daffy by just talking to Dusty. So DJ and Daffy get into Jeff Gordon's car with Jeff Gordon in it and go on a wild car chase crashing into a mall.
Back home, Kate sees Bugs Bunny in the shower and he screams (a-la "Psycho"). Then Bugs tells Kate about what DJ and Daffy are doing. Kate and Bugs crash into DJ and Daffy (literally) in Death Valley where even dirt can't live. They see a Wal-Mart in the middle of Death Valley which is owned by Marvin Acme Jr. (Played by Steve Martin). Mr. Acme would get Wile E. Coyote to dress as a robot so that he could anihilate them and get the Holy Grail. Wile E. would get run over by Roadrunner and before the four heroes would get captured by Marvin the Martian. They escape by telling him the joke of Uranus and would wind-up in Paris.
In Paris, the heroes find an Ace of Spades owned by Daffy's Rival and Bugs Bunny's friend Donald. It said to look in the eyes of the Mona Lisa and it will lead you to the Holy Grail. As Bugs Bunny takes the picture of the Mona Lisa with his Cell phone, Elmer Fudd catches them and tries to kill them. While that was happening, DJ and Kate have a good time at the top of the Eiffel Tower and there's a Love Scene, but got interrupted by Elmer Fudd. However, the four escape with the Da Vinci Code, but Mr. Acme gets it while wearing a Skunk Suit, then Pepe le Pew would kiss him.
The heroes would travel by Hot Air Balloon with Granny, Sylvester the Cat, and Tweety Pie to Jerusalem. Granny, Sylvester, and Tweety would escort the heroes into the Temple where the Holy Grail is at. Bugs Bunny gets shot again by Elmer Fudd and DJ has to save Bugs before he dies. There he meets-up with a King (played by Sean Connery) and tells him about his friends. Then Elmer Fudd finds the cup that he thinks Jesus Christ drank, but he chose poorly. DJ then finds a cup that just says 'Jesus' and the King said he chose wisely.
So DJ takes the cup and gives it to Bugs and he takes a drink as well as getting his wounds healed. As the heroes leave the Temple, they're stopped by The Tasmanian Devil, Marvin the Martian, Mr. Acme, and The Moody Blues. They all get teleported to the Moon and Marvin demands that DJ gives him the Holy Grail, but Daffy Duck would become Duck Dodgers and take back the cup as well as return the ship to earth where it lands by the Hollywood sign. But Mr. Acme was still there and he takes the Holy Grail right by the Seal of Approval and an Earthquake swallows Mr. Acme whole and the King takes back the Holy Grail.
And get this...it was all a movie that they were making anyhow! Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck get respect and DJ and Kate get married in the movie. Porky Pig would say "That's All Folks", but Michael Jordan would steal the show and Porky just said "Son of a B-b-b-b-b-b-b...gun"!
[edit] Reception
Like Space Jam, none of the 50's Looney Tunes characters laughed. The film tanked since it only got half than Space Jam did. Leonard Maltin gave this film 2 1/2 stars, even though it used almost every movie ever made. Even the ending used the score of "Gone with the Wind" as well as everything else.
The movie also focused on Daffy Duck more than Bugs Bunny, this was another reason why this movie bombed. This also made Cartoon Network drop Looney Tunes from their line-up because of this film. Luckily in 2009, it was back on since they were desperate for viewers.
Today, this movie is ranked #3 of the Censored Eleven Films right behind Casino Royale and Deep Throat.
This film was also produced by John Hughes and directed by Dan Aykroyd at the last minute.
[edit] Cast Members that weren't used
Many of the characters that were seen weren't in the movie since there was no time nor it really belonged in the film. These can, however be seen on the DVD Edition....
- Garfield: He was supposed to have a role in this film in the Paris Scene when he accidently falls into black paint and jumps on a flagpole making him a skunk so that Pepe would try to live him, but Garfield was busy at the time.
- Pink Panther: He was supposed to star in the beginning of the film and the end of the film, as well as have the theme by Henry Mancini, but it was dropped because it just didn't make any sense as it is.
- Loopy de Loop: He was supposed to be in the scene in Paris to replace Garfield, but he was scared of Pepe le Pew. The other scenario was to have him dress-up as a Musketeer, but that never happened.
- Donald Duck: He was supposed to have more than one scene in this movie, such as the Duck Season/Rabbit Season Scene and where he gets a 'Wardrobe Malfunction' when the water from the water tower would wash his shirt away. Disney demanded a fee and a fine if Donald Duck would be naked in a Non-Disney Film, so The WB didn't use the scenes.
- Yogi Bear: He was supposed to have a role by dropping a picnic basket on Wile E. Coyote. But time ran out and the scene was worthless.
- Animaniacs: They were supposed to have a role by not only falling out of the Water Tower, but laughing at Donald Duck's butt and undressed gut which would make Donald get angry and kick the Warners. But like Donald, Steven Spielberg demanded a fine to use these characters though they were owned by Warner Brothers.
- Batman: He was supposed to have a role by yelling at Daffy Duck. But they couldn't find anyone to play Batman at the time, so they let that scene go.
- Superman: He was supposed to have a role in the end where he would save the heroes, but Marvin would kill him with Kryptonite. But since the movie was Rated PG...it didn't fly.
- Mooninites: They were supposed to have a role in the end, but since they kept giving the Directors the finger, they were kicked-out of the movie.
- Pinky and the Brain: They were supposed to have a role in the end as well. But like The Warners...they were demanded to have a fine.
- Mike Nelson, Tom Servo, and Crow: They would do the audio commentary on the DVD, and this is the only way to watch this film too.
