I just got this message on the French-language Uncyclopedia,

Spam protection filter
The page you wanted to save was blocked by the spam filter.
This is probably caused by a blacklisted link or pagename.
The following link, text or pagename is what triggered our spam filter: absurdopedia net

Absurdopedia is the Russian-language Uncyclopedia. It moved to independent hosting (and its own domain) in October 2010. Wikia left an old copy open as a fork at, where it currently sits abandoned.

If I understand correctly, Wikia just censored me to prevent me from mentioning the Russian Uncyclopedia in the French Uncyclopedia? This is not acceptable.

Given the current situation in en: (the disclaimers, the censorship of images, the split to a new domain) I am a little concerned. If this is the way that Wikia is treating the Russians more than two years after their move, is the same treatment in store for English-language Uncyclopedians as just a matter of time? Prrrrrobably. Wouldn't put it past 'em. Either that, or they just put the spam filters on "MURDER ALL THINGS" because the place was deluged. ~ BB ~ (T) Icons-flag-usWed, Jan 9 '13 21:09 (UTC)
As this isn't the French uncyclopedia, I don't particularly care. I believe we don't have a spam here. I don't know what type of spam filter the French uncyclopedia has, or why absurdopedia would be on the spam filter. Perhaps the absurdopedia launched a post-forking vandalism attack, perhaps Wikia is being evil, perhaps absurdopedia is on the filter because it is too X-rated. But then again, I really don't have time or inclination to examine the policies of some other wiki. --Mn-z 21:42, January 9, 2013 (UTC)
This isn't some local admin on dÉ blacklisting - this is Wikia doing so. This therefore goes more than a little beyond just the French uncyclopedia. I'm not sure how many wikis are affected. Carlb (talk) 22:26, January 9, 2013 (UTC)
I suggest you leave a message on Sannse's page to ask her there. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 23:42, January 9, 2013 (UTC)
Or I'll come here :) This was added to our global filters back in October 2010 by one of the VSTF, because of cross-wiki spam and vandalism. The filter was expanded in May 2011 by another of the VSTF, after more spam in areas we hadn't blocked before (article titles, edit summaries, etc.). We've never had a reason to remove the block, and risk more problems. We don't routinely block the URLs of forks, but we do if there are issues with spamming and so on -- sannse@fandom (talk) 00:01, January 10, 2013 (UTC)
Maybe French Uncyclopedia, or Free Uncyclopedia would care about said issue. --Mn-z 20:25, January 11, 2013 (UTC)
