Hello Everyone,

I don't know if my opinion really counts because I've been gone for a while- but I was (and am working on becoming again) a consistent contributor to this site. I loved the people here- and the work being done.

It pains me to see such strife between two groups of very intelligent and funny people. I know there are some serious issues and differences in opinion that divide these two groups.

What really pains me is that I see less than 500 active users on both sites.

I don't know about 'extending an olive branch' to those users who have left this site- but I have to ask two questions-

1. Do you really think that such division is in the best interest of achieving the dreams the founders of Uncyclopedia set out to accomplish?

2. Is there even a 1% chance at reconciliation between the two parties?

It seems the focus has been on some sort of power struggle and blame game thus far. Having only come back now during all this turmoil maybe I can be seen as a neutral observer...I can only hope.

I really don't know any of you very well after being gone so long; users like Prettiestpretty and Todd Lyons of this site have gone…

Does that mean that the spirit of cooperation and the ability for men and women to facilitate cooperation for the purpose of one goal is also gone?

Do we really feel that subtraction is really a form of addition?

I miss the unity of one site and I’m not afraid to say that out loud. And I miss the feeling that the goal was bigger than the ‘policies’, the personal politics and the pride of whomever happens to be speaking.

When I read the threads of conversation regarding the split one common denominator stands out (besides the differences in opinion).

Uncyclopedia wasn’t about that from what I recall….

Can anyone involved in this split put pride aside and answer the two questions above- and perhaps give me an idea if this split irreversible?

My greatest fear is that both sites will now fail because the community and the dream of being funny and irreverent is now dead.

I didn’t write articles in a vacuum- I wrote them because my peers in this community loved them (okay liked them!).

I’m sure others feel the same way I do on at least something I’ve written above- imagine if we could build on that something and find some solution that doesn’t further the split.--Spqr Sir Claudius CUN VFH (carpe diem) 23:29, February 28, 2013 (UTC)

A very good post, thanks Claudius (or should I call you Mr. Prime). 500 active users??? I came in late 2009 and it didn't come close to that. It's nice you remember those days (before tweeters, people with no attention span, and the web and gaming dividing people's interests into thousands of cubbyholes). I like your articles (okay, loved some of them). As for the split, it's stupid and looks to be permanent (at least for now, hahahahaha). I post all my pages on both sites, and visit the other one daily. I write on this one and hang out more with people here. It would be nice if everyone spent time on both sites, with one being their favorite, and posted their pages onto both as well as made sure both were healthy and vibrant. This way we'd have two active depositories of all the articles, and that may be the best we can hope for in terms of healing the breach. And I don't see people on this site attacking the other, so there is no war or fight, that only occurs in the minds and writing of people who have fighting in their hearts and use it as a communication tool. Most people at the fork (and there aren't that many of them, look at the voting pages of each site and the fork has a little more but not by much) mind their business there and don't bother with this site, which is too bad. So yes, there is a different feeling than I had for the first years writing here (I'm one of those who like to play on talk pages, but not as much as I used to in the first year and a half or so). This site is lucky to have about half a dozen established users who really care about it, something I wish most of the established writers would do. I don't know much more to say about your concerns. Some of us have tried to be a healing voice, and it'd be good to have you in that capacity. And real good to see you write new pages and/or polish and expand on your older pages (jeez, I've edited some of mine since the start). Good to have you back!!! Aleister 3:52 1-3-'13
The active users who reminded behind here are, generally, pretty stubborn and look upon the leaving members as disrespectful upstarts who don't understand capitalism or something. The leaving users have invested too much into the move to ever go back. Plus, it's actually really nice there. --Littleboyonly TKFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK Oldmanonly 05:17, March 1, 2013 (UTC)
My own view is that all users should have a choice where they would like to be and that includes posting their articles or editing ones they had previously uploaded. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 08:57, March 1, 2013 (UTC)
TKF's description of the people here doesn't fit at all with what I've seen. We just want to keep this site working too. If 40,000 people a day come here, and it represents uncyclopedia for them, it's best to give them a good site to look at. This benefits the entire uncyclopedia universe. Aleister 10:21 1-3-'13
Thanks for the responses all of you. It clears a few things up. Still makes me sad to see such division. I think having two sites is folly but I can keep my mouth shut and write good articles here and just hope people come back...--Spqr Sir Claudius CUN VFH (carpe diem) 16:07, March 1, 2013 (UTC)
My theory is that Wikia wants to keep this site going for the web traffic, and Wikia will be able to someone to keep this site going. However, that someone may have "eccentric" views of were this site should go, aka they might turn this into a furry-secks wiki. The fork is better of if this site is maintained than if it were allowed to degenerate.
Also, the admins on this site tend to treat the established users like adults. --Mn-z 16:32, March 1, 2013 (UTC)

Whores Staying

Todd Lyons. That is all. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)

As usual Mhaille makes me laugh in less than five words!! I will include myself in the Whores Staying category, this is one of those times I will not be stealing her purse and jumping out the window.--Spqr Sir Claudius CUN VFH (carpe diem) 16:07, March 1, 2013 (UTC)

Decisions, decisions...?

I've been an editor of Wikipedia for years. And I'm proud of Wikia - It's a serious and successful institution to be associated with. And I also appreciate their legit ownership of Uncyclopedia. As a brand owner I would be pissed if some envious employee tried to steal my brand and become my competition. So-called free Uncyclopedia is a lawless, leaderless and poor batch of mostly childish crusaders who seem to think they're heroes - and they have divided and nearly ruined Uncyclopedia, which is now two weak halves. They have no legal standing nor defense. They are not an institution. They're just a URL that has to pay its own hosting. I appreciate the ownership and sponsorship of Wikia. So I'm staying here. And I hope our other friends come back so we can patch-up this broken website and get back to humor. Cheers!!!--Funnybony Icons-flag-th Agnideva-small.jpg AGT-logo-small.jpg 09:03, Mar 7
