After being an Uncyclopedian for several months, I've noticed that there are lots of articles that are, well, extremely long and generally unfunny. Most of them are about popular subjects that n00bs tend to love inserting their own jokes into. I've even seen outright spam in these pages before.

Here's a short list:

I'm sure that there are more; those are just the ones I've encountered myself. Most of these articles have decent concepts, but having to wade through thousands and thousands of kilobytes of text and images just annoys me. And I'm sure that I'm not the only one, either.

Semi-protecting an article only seems to partially work; IPs just make accounts for the sole purpose of editing that article, then never touch them again. That's just a generalization, of course; there have got to be exceptions.

So anyway, I ask my fellow Uncyclopedians... can anything be done about this? I'd love to solve the problem by myself, but I'm not that great of a writer (at least, not for Uncyc articles) and I'm only one person. I had the patience to do RuneScape, but the rest are out of my league. Especially the featured ones. --Andorin Kato 06:20, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

I suggest you look at Special:Mostrevisions if you want to see the articles that get absolutely hammered by IPs/n00bs. My suggestion to lazy people who want to help cleaning up is to remove the crap quotes from the article and add appropriate cleanup templates, such as {{redlink}} or {{ugly}}. Someone more dedicated who looks through the categories and maintenance may eventually come and fix it up. Not me, though. I'm also too lazy. Well, lookie here. Two of the articles from my list are right at the top. --Andorin Kato 07:09, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
#21 doesn't count. 400 of its 1,400 edits were mine. But on-topic: have you tried adding a bunch of templates to the pages in question? People love templates. And kittens. Try adding kittens to the pages. Where's the kitten button on the keyboard, anyway? Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 08:47, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
It's next to the Big Red Button. --The Acceptable Thinking cap small Cainad Sacred Chao (Fnord) 09:13, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Start a PLS: "$10 to the best improved/rewritten popular yet crap page. (£50)" People will do anything for ten dollars. --Katievanity.jpg 09:17, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Hmm... anything? --Andorin Kato 16:22, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
