Don't worry, I am not going to talk about conflicts, blocked users, fork, etc. Well, I am going to say something about the fork but it is so ething completely different. So, what I noticed on Uncyclopedia:

  1. Marking an edit as patrolled, or just rollbacking it takes a lot of time and even leads a user to a separate page that just says "The edit to Something has been marked as patrolled (for example). Return to Recent Changes?" While on the fork it is a lot simpler: you press the button, there is a notification message on the same page that disappears several seconds later. I know this is connected to the uncyclopedia script and all the structure, but is it possible to do anything at all about it? If you are patrolling the site, it all gets on your nerves.
  2. Many users have "categorized the page using HOTCAT, while a page like this does not exist on Wikipedia and, in addition to this, if a user wants to use HotCat to categorize pages here, a Wikipedia page won't help him. See below, but the link in the change summary ought to be fixed.
  3. Finally, many new users click on the button "All nominations" on the VFH and see all the recently featured articles (and this is not "all" nominations, far from it). This is already fixed at the fork.

Thank you if you have any comments and feel free to add any other basic problems on Uncyclopedia, if you have noticed any. Anton (talk) 17:03, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

I was quite wrong about HotCat, I found an article under the "HotCat" name, while all the links in the change summary do redirect you to something non-existant. Anton (talk) 17:06, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

Right now. In the change summaries, it says "Catgorized page using HotCat". And it is actually WP:HotCat. Anton (talk) 17:20, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

I remember reading that one of the "hacks" can remove the change summary after rolling a page back. I don't use it, as I like to check one last time what I've changed, and I wouldn't know how to work it anyway, but ask someone who knows how these JavaScript code things work. Sir Reverend P. Pennyfeather (fancy a chat?) CUN VFH PLS 18:51, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

Hacks for both the Patrol and Rollback buttons are documented in Section 4 of UN:HAX. On this website you have to turn on JavaScript and follow the instructions in HAX if you want them to be enabled. Spıke Ѧ 18:59 9-Sep-13

VFH all nominations

Just trying to work out what the issue is here, but I'm assuming you mean that in the following template:

The all nominations page goes to Uncyclopedia:VFH which transcludes Uncyclopedia:VFH/Featured, and this is not the desired outcome.

Two possible fixes:

  1. That transclusion is removed from Uncyclopedia:VFH, or
  2. That button instead directs to Uncyclopedia:VFH/All (which I just created, so probably should be protected if that's done).

I'd suggest that we go with the second option, and leave Uncyclopedia:VFH as it is. I probably would also change the VFH redirect to Uncyclopedia:VFH/summary while I was at it.                               Puppy's talk page10:34 09 Sep 2013

On the last sentence, I have just done so, as I suspect it was searching for "VFH" that Thetinydick keeps going to recent (but closed) nominations. Spıke Ѧ 22:41 9-Sep-13
All right, VFH is pointing to the summary, but the summary is suddenly all nominations! Did I screw up, or you? Spıke Ѧ 22:44 9-Sep-13
I'm just getting the summary under the redirect, using the header, or the sidebar link. I have no idea, but I'm going to blame you anyway.                               Puppy's talk page10:49 09 Sep 2013
I see it. I edited "UN:VFH" but was using the totally separate redirect "VFH". They now both point to the summary. Spıke Ѧ 22:50 9-Sep-13
PS--Reading further upward, I see no reason why "All nominations" should not show you all (recent) nominations. You might be looking for an article that you know went to VFH but do not know the outcome. Spıke Ѧ 22:52 9-Sep-13
I'd suggest changing the order then. And by that logic, recent failed should probably be included.                               Puppy's talk page11:10 09 Sep 2013
But then it should be a mix between all three: featured, failed or still alive. Anton (talk) 08:38, September 10, 2013 (UTC)
That's what I mean. I'd say go for long version still alive, and then recent featured, and then recent failed. We theoretically could DPL based upon first edit date - similar to the way summary currently works - but without the “in progress” aspect, which means you would get a mix of all sorts with only the nomination date being a criterion to search by, but that mix would be more confusing than it currently is.                               Puppy's talk page11:19 10 Sep 2013
Yes, probably. Anton (talk) 16:03, September 10, 2013 (UTC)

Uncyclopedia:VFH still redirects to All Nominations. And we decide to change the A.N. page, we can also mark nominations as closed or open and that will not be confusing. ...Or we can also create a system (as with the Village Dump forums) that makes sure everyone notices the fact that the nom is closed.
