I try to go through at least the last 50 entries in Special:Newpages when I can; the problem, however, is that when I don't do it for a day or two, when I go back I'm wading through knee-deep crud. Or so it seems. Likewise QVFD, although that at least gets cleared out every other day or so. But I'm concerned that with the volume of contributions we get here, some nasty cyberbullying or other vanity violation could easily slip down Special:Newpages and into the database.

So this, my fellow admins, is an impassioned plea for you to incorporate Special:Newpages and QVFD into your "I've-just-logged-into-Uncyclopedia" routine. Please. I'm sure I'm not the only one looking at these pages, but we do need more people on the case. Ta. -- Sir Codeine K·H·P·B·M·N·C·U·Bu. · (Harangue) 11:28, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

When I'm online I give a look over last day's new pages and QVFD/ICU the bad stuff, since VFD is usually full (and at the moment is overflowing, which means Braydie is probably being eaten again)... but I'm not online very frequently. Nevertheless, perhaps I'll kick my dusty laptop into action over the weekend and help a bit more. Or at least until I become an extreme zealot. If that hasn't happened already. Nothing that spends a day being under 720 bytes (limit rising...) should slip into the database, since my daily routine includes checking the Short Pages list for new/newly-short pages and watching everything I QVFD or ICU there until it's up to scratch or deleted. But yes, this doesn't cover the more extreme slandanity-rants that people go on occasionally. It's amazing how these hide themselves sometimes by looking like slightly mediocre articles about slightly obscure subjects - Wikipedia and Google buttons in personal javascripts are to be recommended.
(Also note, Pigeon, that VFD is not (except for occasional special circumstances) for anything under 7 days old. Just in case you didn't know...) --Strange (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 13:45, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
You may also like the short new pages highlighting script which highlights all the pages under a certain length on special:newpages. Spang talk 02:43, 18 May 2007
(Following standard procedure when Spang tells me about a .js script) - Where, Spang? WHERE? Come to think of it, perhaps you should just copy all your code that might be useful to me into my .js to save me from asking you again and again. That would be much appreciated.
Also, I haven't been patrolling newpages much recently, but I think now is a good time to start again. Icons-flag-au Sir Cs1987 UOTM. t. c 03:47, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
Good, I felt like i was the only bastard patrolling the damn thing. -- Prof. Olipro Icons-flag-gb KUN (W)Anchor Op Bur. (Harass) 04:01, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
Technically, the rest of us aren't bastards. So yes, your feelings are correct. And as for the VFD thing that's newbishness on my part - although there are some things I'm unsure about, such as this one. It's new, and it's had effort put into it, but it's just completely random - although not enough for the ICU. - Pigeon 11:00, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
It's no fun if you don't have to find it yourself! Try here though. Maybe. The stuff on there should be pretty self explanatory, if not I'll copy everything useful over for you. Spang talk 02:11, 18 May 2007
