Several weeks ago Aleister mentioned that sometimes one vote against the article is enough to fail the VFH. Yesterday I have seen how after only one vote against (mine) Funnbony's UnNews:Facebook introduces ‘Nookie’ shamefully left the nomination.

I appreciate the fact that everyone's votes count but feel that it is not very fair. Could you, please, explain this if I misunderstood this phenomenon. And if what I say is true, do you think we should change this or not? Anton (talk) 05:43, June 11, 2013 (UTC)

Anton, it was me who removed the nomination from VFH. The reason this happened was due to the exceptionally low health of the nomination. If you visit the VFH page you will note that each article has a level of health next to it. When an article reaches less than 5% health and has not attained the requisite votes for feature it is removed from the queue as failed. There is some more information about this on this page.
Our intention is never to ignore votes, but where the article has only has not accrued many votes and the article has been on VFH for longer than a month it will be considered for removal, on these occasions articles with low health are the first to go. I hope that makes sense. --ChiefjusticeWii 06:15, June 11, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, thanks for the explanation! Anton (talk) 15:56, June 11, 2013 (UTC)

It is not true that an article will automatically fail with one vote against. There have been two articles that went through and were nominated recently with scores of 8/1. Sir ScottPat (talk) White Ensign Scotland Flag 1 Compassrose VFH UnS NotM WotM WotY 16:00, June 11, 2013 (UTC)
Indeed. One vote against in six weeks wasn't this article's doom but only three votes in favor (four if Denza would increment his vote score). I was not excited about an old UnNews by a fallen-away Lord of UnNews despite having a small hand in the writing. Offering a failed VFH nomination is not death, as evidently it was in the ancient Greek Senate; but opening a Forum when you lose a vote ought to be dismemberment, for those who never learned from Little League baseball not to bark at the umpire after striking out. I am glad to hear that what I feared is not true. Anton (talk) 16:18, June 11, 2013 (UTC)
