Hey all! :)

I've dropped by today because we in the office noticed a few things with your CSS that were a little concerning in light of customisation policy. These are pretty minor things that we likely missed in the past because you used to have a different default skin.

In general, the guiding principle of customisation policy is just that you can't typically touch things that are part of the FANDOM interface itself. Another way of looking it is that, usually, things above and including the page title, or below the category area at the bottom of pages, aren't to be styled by the local community. Or, in CSS terms, classes and IDs containing the acronym wds or the word global probably shouldn't be touched locally.

Because your CSS is a touch complicated, I probably will have to make a few edits to get it done. I'll post back here when I'm done.

If you have any questions, as always, you can send them in through a Special:Contact. Or you can tap me on the shoulder at my talk page. Thanks! -- CzechOut @fandom 21:57, September 10, 2018 (UTC)

Okay, everyone, I think I'm done doing what I came here to do. Just to give a broad overview, I restored to FANDOM-default:
  • Everything above and including the line underneath page titles was returned to a state such as is seen on a wiki with a very similar blue theme.
    • Main buttons that readers see went back to FANDOM-standard. Largely, this meant a return to all-caps.
    • Page titles
    • Local navigation header
  • Everything below the categories at the bottom of the page
Again, if you have any questions, S:C them or hit me up on my talk page! -- CzechOut @fandom 23:01, September 10, 2018 (UTC)
I was previously informed (through CavaX) that Wikia staff would not be stepping in to change the CSS themselves. I see Wikitubia has recently had some of its CSS removed as well [1], possibly because I brought it up as a counterexample. It really makes no sense that the title and edit button would be off limits for any styling at all, and I see nothing in the policy about buttons except that "Added decoration to buttons, boxes, backgrounds, fonts" is allowed, but it also says it doesn't cover everything. We'll just have to live with the title and section headers being mismatched, I suppose. It would be nice if an exception were made for wikis that previously used Monobook, since they weren't hurting anything in that state, but I don't expect that to happen. ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr talkcontribs • 02:29 11 September 2018
The idea has always been that Uncyclopedia is a Wikipedia take-off. That's even before Wikia got it. We really want it to look like Wikipedia. whatever that takes. AdminBadge DAP Dame Pleb Com. Miley Spears (talk) 03:15, September 19, 2018 (UTC)
Sorry Miley, I let you down. I tried to give us more than we were allowed to have. At least they let us keep most of it. They won't let us look like Wikipedia, though. They have to maintain a unified brand appearance, and if they let the Uncyclopedians put their camel's nose in the tent it won't work. Never heard of another wiki farm doing that, but this isn't really a wiki farm. Not anymore. It's more like The Duck Webcomics, which has similar rules about customization. ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr talkcontribs • 03:48 19 September 2018
No one has been let down Llwy-ar-lawr and Miley Spears. At least we don't have the full ugly Oasis as a default. The struggle continues. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 05:44, September 19, 2018 (UTC)
