Someone a few days ago added some really crappy content to a page I originally wrote and I was wondering if it is possible to revert the article to the previous version myself, or if I need to ask an admin to do this. Cheers. -- Dutchy 09:32, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

De-crapping of articles is always welcomed, especially by the admins. --The Acceptable Thinking cap small Cainad Sacred Chao (Fnord) 10:09, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
he means you can -- no permission required. (removing ambiguity. cainad you do a better job writing chronicles) -- mowgli 10:14, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
I'm also very good at using the shift key when appropriate. </childish ad hominem bickering> --The Acceptable Thinking cap small Cainad Sacred Chao (Fnord) 10:18, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
i shifted my shift key out to my temple where i worship it. idol worship is a pagan hangover, i know, but i needed his image. no other reason. -- mowgli 10:39, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Much obliged. However, do I have to go in severe edit mode and delete and rewrite the original bit, or is there an easier way to restore an older version of the article from the history? -- Dutchy 10:55, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Go to the history, click on the last good version of the article and press edit - it should come up with a thing saying you're editing an older revision of the page. Then just press save. -- Paw_print.jpg 11:09, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

same thing as what flying feline said. removing ambiguity: some illustrated text:

1) go to the page's history and click "last" where the last edit you wish to revert to is shown:

2) now click edit:

3) save. -- mowgli 11:11, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

A huge "D'oh!!" accompanied by several exclamation marks has just materialised itself in front of my third eye. Thanks to Mordillo, Mowgli and Flyingfeline! I have reverted to the older version and will now retreat to a quiet corner until the black goblins of self-reproach have lost interest in my incompetence. -- Dutchy 11:21, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
