So I was talking with Sannse the other day and apparently Wikia are of the opinion that it may now be suitable for non Wikia staff to have this tool. I suggest that checkuser be granted to all of our active bureaucrats. By that I mean Mhaille, Codeine and Mordillo.
If they're happy to have it, I can't think of 3 better people to do so. --UU - natter15:12, Mar 23
I like the idea of MrN9000 and or UU and Spang - together, in a shower, makin' the steam, oh yeah, sweet sweet love in the shower...--Sycamore(Talk) 15:18, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
per UU, but no per Syc. --Mnb'z 15:49, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Can't see why they shouldn't have it. That goes for Mhaille, Codeine and Mordillo having checkuser and for MrN9k, UU and Spang too, though in the latter case it should be in bold. If you know what I mean. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink. Rabbi TechnokvetchContribsFOXES 16:32, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
I don't see why Flammable shouldn't have it, too. He's still active, he just lurks. --TKFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK 18:49, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
I agree, Flamm should have it. He's a well-known and very good member of the team. Hur hur. I said member. Rabbi TechnokvetchContribsFOXES 18:54, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
I concur, this would definitely benefit some of the bigger wikis. Sannse did also mention bureaucrats might be able to add and remove bot status as well. --CharitwoTalk 20:32, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Hey, just give it to me. I promise I'll abuse it. I mean... She fell down the stair. Yes. The one stair. And ran into the door... It isn't spousal abuse if she doesn't report it! --MegaPleb•Dexter111344•Complain here 20:47, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
But on a serious note, I need to get "heh" rights. Spang shouldn't be the only one. I need to have it. Or "Freakazoid". --MegaPleb•Dexter111344•Complain here 21:32, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
I'm the only one with the skills required to exercise the heh rights. It would be very dangerous for anyone else to even attempt to get them. •Spang•☃•talk• 22:45, 23 Mar 2009
Well from what Sannse said to me there is a log of who uses the tool, and what they do with it. I guess that stops any possible "abuse" of power as it would be easy to remove the feature should it be considered that the tool was being used in the wrong way. I therefore suggest that checkuser be granted to all registered users on the site. With the exception of Dexter111344. Obviously... Every sysop on ED has it btw. Not that I have ever been there. Obviously. MrNFork you! 22:52, Mar 23
I think you'll find it's Olipro who "uses" the "tool" most often, and what he does with it definitely counts as abuse. --UU - natter09:56, Mar 24
