Forum:Making a link to a page but not just to the top of the page but rather to some subheading within the page how would I do it please? (breathe)
From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia
um, yes. that. anyone know? Incidentally is there any limit to the length of discussion titles? --Kelpan 15:34, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Like This? If not, I have no idea what you re talking about.
- If so... there are 5 sizes of header.
= REALLY BIG = == BIG == === Small === ==== Smaller ==== ===== Size of a finger =====
Not like this. Perhaps I should have been clearer
I mean linking to a subheading within a page from another page. Much like the contents box links to subheadings. I think I've worked out how to anyway. --Kelpan 15:50, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Yup, got it. You just have to link to PAGETITLE#SUBHEADINGTITLE. Thanks anyway. --Kelpan 15:52, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
I do know what you're talking about
u want to link to a subheading of a page. they do it on wikipedia alot. what you do is something along the lines of [[<page name here>#<header title here>]]. i might have goten that wrong though.--General And Min. THEDUDEMAN 15:51, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Did we mention that how you do it is to put the page title, then then hash sign, then the section title, and enclose the whole thing in double-square brackets? --Whhhy?Whut?How? *Back from the dead* 17:54, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- It's the pound key here. I guess it depends on your location. The key is the same key, but with a different name. Pound...hash. Odd, that sounds like a drug reference. That explains the crud on the side of my butter knife, at least. 18:18, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
