So, as most of you probably noticed, I tried to make a new logo the other day/week/something. That was actually meant to go with a vector skin, but for some reason I thought it'd be funny to replace the normal logo with a brighter version of that... not really sure what happened after, but now the one you saw (not the orange one, the brown one) is the intended for vector after all. Question is, should we have a separate one for the two skins? Wikipedia doesn't, but the orange one, which people seemed to prefer here, looks really bad on vector.
That said, I was going though the project logos - Game, HowTo, UnTunes, etc... changed some, didn't others, and others still could probably use replacing/cleaning up, and most of them could also use slogans (or need their existing slogans found or made more applicable). Question is, do we want to display these slogans on the pages as a sitesub as wikipedia does, or only for certain projects (like how wikipedia does, wikinews does not, etc)? Or not at all, as we have been doing of late?

Lyrithya, I like that idea. But previously, I had changed a logo back in 2009: [1]
That was my idea. You can have it now. |Si PlebiusDato' (Sir)Joeang AussieCUN|ICKill| 09:48, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

Let's see you make a better Forum logo. -->>Hello, my name is SirLollipop, and I am Canadian! 16:27, 6 June 2011

And why is it we need a new Forum logo? The two potatoes behind their poduiums says it all. And it's not an Unforum, it's a forum. With potatoes. Aleister 16:33 6-6-'11
I thought about that afterwards. So what are we going to do with the Forum logo? Just keep it the way it is? -->>Hello, my name is SirLollipop, and I am Canadian! 16:40, 6 June 2011
I can see no harm in people trying to improve the site. On this occasion it looks like we will probably stick with the old forum logo, but Lollipop's efforts are appreciated, even if not successful this time. MrNFork you! 16:42, Jun 6
That's what I meant to say but weasels were eating Frank Zappas dead flesh and I paid a lot to the guy who set it up to watch. Most of the logos seem fine to me at least, well designed, and well used. It's like when Tiger Woods won a thousand championships, and then his coaches said "Tiger, why don't we take a year to change your swing?" and he went along with it. Now his knee is the consistency of sawdust, but he changed his swing! Bad example, but I guess I'm concentrating on the slogan and not the logos, so my thoughts are befuddled by progress. Aleister 16:44 6-6-'11
Well, most of the logos were already pretty good, and better now (I think, in my egotistical manner), but some just... don't fit. If we can get a better forum one it'd be nice, but baring that making the potatoes less orange would probably suffice, you know? 1234~17:05, 6 June 2011
Idea: a dump truck unloading a batch of potatoes on the ground, next to a sign that says "Village Dump" --TKFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK 17:55, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

My Village Dump logo looks worse than the "UnForum" one.
I'm not good with potatochopping? -->>Hello, my name is SirLollipop, and I am Canadian! 00:05, 7 June 2011
I think we can all appreciate the time and effort that you've put into attempting to improve our logos, and of course, your efforts aren't ignored. But I don't really know how else to say it. It doesn't look photoshopped, it looks, well, MS Painted. Most image editors give you dozens of tools to make sure your edits don't actually look like you've ripped pixels out of one image and put it into another - blending and shadowing and color adjustments and such. Maybe the Reefer Desk would be good for you if you're really interested in image editing, but really, I'd leave the logos to people who have a little bit more... image experience than you. –SirSkullthumper,MD(criticize•writings•formspring) 00:16 Jun 07, 2011
The UnForum logo was used with GIMP. The Village Dump was a combination of MS Paint and GIMP. True story. -->>Hello, my name is SirLollipop, and I am Canadian! 00:19, 7 June 2011
To clarify, I wasn't actually assuming which editors you were using, but commenting on the complexity of the edit. GIMP or even Photoshop can be as useless as MS Paint if you don't actually use the tools it provides you. –SirSkullthumper,MD(criticize•writings•formspring) 00:22 Jun 07, 2011
I think i'll take my "UnForum" logo to the Reefer Desk, becfause I see some promise in that image. -->>Hello, my name is SirLollipop, and I am Canadian! 00:27, 7 June 2011
Skully is quite right, your image efforts, whilst nonetheless are "effort", are akin to fingerpainting undertaken by a 5 year old, and that's being generous. Perosonally, I'd just call them unmitigated shit -- Prof. OliproKUN(W)AnchorOpBur. (Harass) 01:24, June 11, 2011 (UTC)

All of the subtle opinions aside, no, Lollipop your efforts here are not unmitigated shit. While the images youve posted now won't be voted for any time soon, theres no reason why you shouldn't post them, or keep trying to improve on them. Dont listen to anyone who tells you to STOP. They are suggestions after all. And while the image for village dump you posted isnt' up to standard, its not a half bad idea. A good image of a dump truck dumping out potatoes, if done well would be a great logo. Keep working on it...or even better yet, someone could collaborate on the idea. ??? --ShabiDOO 10:54, July 4, 2011 (UTC)

LOGO
This is made by me and used in zh-tw. I choose this color because blue seems like the essential colour of wiki projects and we should get the relative color as our essential color. I also added an horizontal line on it to make the book looks like banned.--Sunny周 17:44, June 9, 2011 (UTC)
I actually quite like it. The only thing you gotta look at is the fact that on the letters that say "Unforum" and on the potato the light is coming from the top right, but on the question mark it's coming from the bottom, and on the exclamation point there's not any light at all! Lest I receive unwarranted credit, let me clarify that I didn't make up Sophia - she initially manifested herself in the original Uncyc logo, which you can see here: Uncyclopedia:Community_Portal/archive2#Logo_Contest! As far as I know, that is the origin of the potato theme. —rc(t) 22:25, June 11, 2011 (UTC)
UnBooks logo saying
Maybe I didn't notice it before, but did the UnBooks logo always read "Empty books for an empty world" or is that new? I don't remember it. New or old, please let's change it, way too pessimistic
to put in place of the potato in articles (and how can we get back the potato logo on pages where the thing is just ugly?) I like the old UnBooks logo much more than the new stylized nothing, the old one was at least a stack of books. Aleister 11:16 11-6-'11
It used to not read anything at all... which brings back the whole we need proper slogans thing. Butbut... it's ugly? Er, I mean... it's basicallu a regular logo; just replace it with the usual js... er, I mean, use {{logo}}. As for using the other logo, we could have a vote or something, see what people in general prefer. But the current one is the current wikibooks one; the old one is the old wikibooks one. 1234~12:12, 11 June 2011
Uncyloversity
And I see this just got a new logo, please don't do a thing to change this beautiful older one - with a potato update by Lyrithya - this is one of the gems of the site. Please don't stupify it. Aleister 11:48 11-6-'11
What is happening to our wiki? A beautiful logo for uncycloveristy is going to be replaced by a stupid pic of a potato in a stockade or a box or something? Why isn't any administrator stopping this "advancement" towards stupid? Seriously and very concerned about the quality of the very rapid direction the wiki is taking. Aleister 11:53 11-6-'11
That's the seal - it's not a logo. They're different things, mon. It's like using the PWotM badge for the UnScripts logo... it doesn't fit. And I know the Uncycloversity one I made is terrible, but... well... I'm sorry. It's the best I could come up with. 1234~12:12, 11 June 2011
Can't the seal be used for the logo? It's the same size. And all I have to try to hold back the tide of stuff is words, so I go overboard at times. You and I have the same energy in trying to help the wiki, I think, so please bear with me as I rant and tear out my hair over the slightest thing. It takes me awhile to get used to some things, and I actually like the pale potato now, so who knows, maybe in a day or so I will rant to bring back the potato in a cage and get rid of this stupid fancy-dan gay seal. If I were bipolar I'd have an excuse, but I've never been to the south pole so can't claim the distinction. Aleister 12:23 11-6-'11
I'm being a dick sometimes, well, oftentimes. Not dancing at all. High praise for lote of things here that Lyrithya and others are doing, like the new forum thing with the potatoes with torches, which I find very funny. Potatoes fighting users, what's not to like? Aleister 12:46 11-6-'11
Aleister, you make changes all the time, you add categories, you change out your giant cookies on your user page. I don't know if it is an aversion to change as much as it is an aversion to other people making changes - something to think about. Control. --KevillipsэвилипсMUN,CM,NS,3of7 00:38, June 12, 2011 (UTC)
Well, to be fair, these are a bit... bigger. But people tend not to like change in general, get used to things and then want them to stay that way... until they get used to the new thing, anyhow. 1234~01:20, 12 June 2011
I'm still confused as to which is which, though my first impression of the "box" logo was that the potato was in jail... Maybe if the potato were proportional in size, as well as standing in front of the pavilion, it wouldn't look so imprisoned. Though maybe that's what some college students feel like??? I just gradgee-ated, so I don't really care. As they say at my Uni, "let the freshmen be eaten." :P -- Sir"TheSlyPony"Invariably certifiable.Rap sheet. His greatest achievement (and bizarre obsession).08:07 June 15, 2011 (UTC)
I like the logos for everything. They are done good. I'm not sure that having potatoes with torches is the best logo for the forum. Kind of keeps the whole, arguing, users vs. admins thing, angry complaining drama idea there instead of it just representing a forum. For instance, people use the forums to talk about competitions and other things that don't even involve voting. Well...my two cents. --ShabiDOO 15:55, June 13, 2011 (UTC)
Well, it's supposed to be a joke. There is a chance, however, that the truth in it might make people see it and realise that's what they're doing and think twice before proceeding. But perhaps I'm just being naïve. 1234~23:59, 13 June 2011
In that case there should be bigger torches and machetes :) --ShabiDOO 00:19, June 14, 2011 (UTC)
Machetes... now why did I not think of that? 1234~00:37, 14 June 2011
There was one of those, but it kind of got lost when I scaled the thing down. 1234~09:14, 14 June 2011
You could also have a lynching of a potato. Did you think of that? Put some potatos in kkk hats and one potato with a noose around it. Everyone could guess who the hanging potato represents!!! Is it Lolipop? The killer froggy? Lyrithya? Lolipop? Who knows. --ShabiDOO 14:56, June 14, 2011 (UTC)
Holy crap I just noticed this
Because of the new logos, every page that uses the "nologo" template is screwed up. Check out the upper left corner of Beige for an example. It should just be a matter of changing the picture on the template, right? It'sMrthejazz... a case not yet solved. 06:26, June 16, 2011 (UTC)
Or...I guess "nologo" no longer exists. When did that happen? So every page that has the logo taken off for something custom is going to be screwed up and need to be replaced by the other template? It'sMrthejazz... a case not yet solved. 06:32, June 16, 2011 (UTC) Never mind that, the other template doesn't work. It'sMrthejazz... a case not yet solved. 06:33, June 16, 2011 (UTC)
What... other template? Changing the logos in general shouldn't affect templates... custom logos will be positioned wrong in the Vector skin, however, if, like on Beige, they are positioned directly instead of using the logothing class or {{logo}}, but that's another matter entirely and I'll just go fix that on that one. *scuttles off* 1234~06:38, 16 June 2011
The first template I mentioned was {{nologo}}. The second was {{logo}}. I couldn't get {{logo}} to work, so I'll have to watch and see how you do that, because I imagine there's quite a few pages that will need that change, my userpage included. If only there were an easy way to find those pages. It'sMrthejazz... a case not yet solved. 06:46, June 16, 2011 (UTC)
Eh, usage varies. If what it says on the template page doesn't help, though, you should tell me how to fix it. 1234~07:03, 16 June 2011
(shrug) It bwoken. My strength is content. My weakness and bitter enemy is formatting stuff. Curse you formatting stuff! It'sMrthejazz... a case not yet solved. 07:56, June 16, 2011 (UTC)
Are you using firefox 4? Because apparently half the js on the site, including and the mock namespace logos and interlanguage feature stars, doesn't work with that.
Anyhow, formatting is just... not nice to people in general. 1234~09:21, 16 June 2011
