User JavaScript seems to be entirely disabled. (—EStop, in a Change Summary to a test to his own .js file)

I'm seeing the same thing you are. Reported it to Wikia last night. Surely this is the latest chapter of their San Francisco gun-control mentality, in which a hacker episode must be met by removing tools from the widest number of people in order to "guarantee" that misconduct is rendered physically impossible. Some of the executives at our webhost should be working within the home removing sharp objects from toddlers. Spıke Radiomicrophone10:37 4-Sep-15
Wasn't there a Wikia banner saying you had to opt into Java, for example? --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 10:44, September 4, 2015 (UTC)
Where? How? Spıke Radiomicrophone10:50 4-Sep-15
You guys too? Thought I'd been sacked for a minute there. I'll have a browse around and see if there is anything being discussed elsewhere. --EStop (talk) 11:12, September 4, 2015 (UTC)
Is it this? http://community.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Kirkburn/Technical_Update:_September_2,_2015#comm-905904

Yes, there is a new check box at Special:Preferences (with even a Learn more). Best of all, reading this page did not reset my skin or preferences! Thank you for the research, and apologies to the several Anons I reverted this morning expecting to be able to give them a short explanation. Spıke Radiomicrophone13:50 4-Sep-15
PS--I added a note at UN:HAX for users wanting to avail themselves of JavaScript hacks that they must opt in first. Spıke Radiomicrophone14:10 4-Sep-15
PPS--Surely the fix had already gone live when you experimented with your JS file, as the status quo ante was that we were unable to do anything more than "view source" at all. You just didn't know the check-box had been added. Spıke Radiomicrophone14:34 4-Sep-15
I'm sure it had. Checked my preferences first, but did not notice the new box and/or failed to realize it's significance, mind you, the amount of times I have been in there you can count on one hand. In fact, while at it I declared myself male and tied the wikia skin. Even tried the chat box, but no one was talking to me.--EStop (talk) 15:03, September 4, 2015 (UTC)
It was I who noticed this new feature and switched it on. (Went in once but no one was talking to me either.) Romartus has noticed it and went as far as to make himself a Chat Administrator. Just in case. Spıke Radiomicrophone15:14 4-Sep-15
Ohhhh...does this mean Wikia has created their own chat channel for Unc?? I didn't know what chat admin was but thought I should add the hat just in case. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 20:48, September 4, 2015 (UTC)
It doesn't seem to be a channel on IRC but a JavaScript application. For some reason, you need to have selected wikia skin in My Preferences, which means I won't be in very often. Chat admins can throw participants off and can ban Uncyclopedians from Special:Chat, which you could do anyway. Spıke Radiomicrophone22:59 4-Sep-15
