“I actual support Insineratehymn's effort. Every page should only have one quote. Consequently, it should be an Oscar Wilde.”
~ Oscar Wilde on Quoticide

“My next mission: The Most Quotable Smackdown of All Time.”

“Insineratehymn doesn't care about quotes.”

~ Russian reversal on Quoticide
“Insineratehymn's project gives me such a boner.”
~ Famine on Quotacide
“He is truely walking in my footsteps by roundhouse kicking these shitty quotes into oblivion.”

“These excessive quotes are put here solely to piss off Insineratehymn.”
~ Captain Obvious on you know what
“That's what she said.”
~ Michael Scott on above quote, even though it was in no way a sexual double entendre, and lame Michael Scott quotes are going to ruin many quotes on pages with Insineratehymn's crazy scheme.

“Noel Coward quotes suck.”
“I could have told you that.”

Now I am one for deleting sucky quotes. In fact, I support taking out the trash 150%. But do you think Insineratehymn is going too far by deleting every quote on pages with his so-called "Quoticide". And who is he to decide if a quote is 'really funny' or not? Kip the Dip 07:30, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

A quote or two augments an article. The problem we have is when there are 23 unfunny quotes filling the top of an article. Remember children, nothing in excess. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb (talk to me)
I think one topquote per page is so reasonable it would make Aristotle's head explode. Quote "dialogs" can be placed elsewhere if they are truly amusing. And who is he to decide what constitutes a really funny quote? He is Insineratehymn. I am Cainad. You are Kip the Dip. This is Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia that anyone can edit. That "anyone can edit" part works two ways. If anyone truly, honestly believes that a really funny quote got deleted, they can put it back. If there's a problem, they can take it to the Talk page. No need to fret over the ideals of Democracy vs. Actual Humor, just fix what seems to be wrong, and be italic! Now, I admit deleting all the quotes on a page seems extreme, but much of the time even the lone, single quote isn't funny. Quoticide seems to be an example of just losing patience with all the crap.
I forgot where I was going with this. --The Acceptable Thinking cap small Cainad Sacred Chao (Fnord) 07:45, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
  • That is an excellant point. I hate when there are too many quotes on a page. But why does it have to be just one? Does it have to be just one? What if there are two or three funny ones, or, in a small chance, hilarious ones? Kip the Dip 07:52, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Did this really need a new forum topic? Didn't Forum:Quoticide pretty much cover this ground already? Who ate my tapioca? Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 09:55, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Woops. I didn't see that one. My bad. Oh well, just ignore this one then. -- Kip > Talk Works Puzzle Potato Dry Brush CUN Icons-flag-us
This is why I'm starting to put quotes in the middle of articles instead of at the top. Of course only one at a time. --Crazyswordsman...With SAVINGS!!!! (T/C) 11:52, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

If you find yourself deleting all quotes, it may be a sign that you're just letting them annoy you, and killing something while annoyed is not the way to go. Just ask the guys with life sentences. (Can I have the prize for Worst Ever Analogy now?) --Strange (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 17:12, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Quality over quantity, people. If somebody thinks a quote that has been removed is funny, then they can put it back in there. This is unlikely though, since nobody cares. Also, I don't think there are any set guidelines for what exactly qualifies as "too many quotes", so just use your best judgement, like how Insineratehymn is. --Hotadmin4u69 [TALK] 20:06, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
I am finding it quite useful, he really gets around and got 2 or three of my pages. I totally forgot about those so I gave them a glance and rub over. Put back 1 or 2 to the point quotes and that was it. I applaud his ruthlessness --Vosnul 20:58, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
The problem is, if we have to put back two or three quotes on every article he's looked at, that means an awful lot of clearing up after him... --Strange (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 22:09, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
On the other side, if this is the method for people to tend to the articles that they care about, fine. --Vosnul 22:23, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
Exactly. If a person cares about an article he removes quotes from, then of course they'll add quotes back in. If not, then that works too. --Hotadmin4u69 [TALK] 23:49, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
  • I've been given this some thought, and I might actually join him in his crusade. The only thing that bothers me is how many quotes are allowed. He says just one, but is one quote enough for certain pages? -- Kip > Talk Works Puzzle Potato Dry Brush CUN Icons-flag-us
If it makes you laugh, keep it. Just don't have pages with 3-4+ (unless it's 3-4 REALLY good quotes) --Littleboyonly TKFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK Oldmanonly 03:22, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
  • I totally agree with the crusade. It was a little annoying to have to put back the funny quotes on all of my articles. And then random users keep showing up and posing in the crusade by huffing the few quotes I put back. I totally get this idea and have severly limited the number of quotes. Maybe someday, we will have pages that are more than 40 quotes tied together by a few bad phrases. Oh, and I bet Insineratehymn has done around 10,000 edits in the last week or so. Sorry this is 3 days late. My internet's been done a week or so. "Comcastic" my ass. Fresh Stain Serq Fet of Pokemon (At your service) 05:28, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
