Well yeah, there's a Declaration of Independence I found behind this painting I picked up for dirt cheap, soon after I bought it the painting fell apart and behind it I found well, the declaration. I was intrigued for a while, but thought nothing of it until I recently read about the guy who sold it for millions (http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9D0CE5D9143FF930A35757C0A967958260). Also some of the things in the article about it sounded similar to the one I have right now.

""""It was announced yesterday by David N. Redden, head of the book and manuscript department at Sotheby's in Manhattan. Mr. Redden described the document, found behind the painting when the collector took the frame apart, as an "unspeakably fresh copy" of the declaration. "The fact that it has been in the backing of the frame preserved it," he said. Of the 24 copies known to survive, only 3 are in private hands, he added.

Mr. Redden said the unidentified owner bought the painting, "a dismal dark country scene with a signature he could not make out," for its gilded and ornately carved frame. He told Mr. Redden that he discarded the painting, which he disliked. When he realized the frame was crudely made and unsalvageable, he said he got rid of it also. """"

I suppose you could call the frame ornate, and the framework is real crappy, old nails, twisted nails, bad wood and wire is what makes up the frame. It's also been folded in a very specific way once, see the crease lines? Take a look for yourselves and judge, I'm not saying it's definite, but I think it's there. I think you need to make those images a lot smaller. I also think you've been watching The Antiques Road Show too much. - P.M., WotM, & GUN, Sir Led Balloon Baloon(Tick Tock) (Contribs) 23:06, Apr 22
I don't watch that show, I just read the online article and the descriptions in it were real similar to the one I have.--Witt, Union leader of Union member UNion Entertain me* 23:12, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

I've got no plans to try peeling it off, but if it's the original, then I assume so.--Witt, Union leader of Union member UNion Entertain me* 00:34, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
What you need to do is send it to me. For safekeeping. Spang talk 01:40, 23 Apr 2008
I think so but you need those 3D glasses that Ben Franklin invented to see it. --Lt. Sir Orion Blastar (talk) 15:22, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
