Rarity vewy sad

Every time you haphazardly delete an article, a unicorn pony gets vewwy vewwy sad.

In an attempt to keep things organized, as well as to prevent issues that were voted on getting lost in a forgotten forum somewhere, I'm continuing one of the issues brought up in Forum:Serious article deleting problem in this new forum. More precisely, the issue of having a voting page where things that were previously deleted can be voted on to be restored and/or moved back to mainspace. Hype has already proposed to use Uncyclopedia:Votes for deletion for this purpose and has gotten substantial support. However, maybe it'd be better to keep deletion and undeletion separate, i.e. to have a separate Uncyclopedia:Votes for undeletion page or possibly a more general Uncyclopedia:Votes for mainspaceation page which might involve other moving-something-to-mainspace related disputes as well. Feel free to share your opinion on the issue below this post.

To your right there's also a nice little picture with a cartoon pony on it, which I put there because these ponies from a girly television series seem to be all the rage among adult and slightly less adult males. The moving to userspace thing is now simply asking an admin to restore it and move it into your userspace. I dunno after that. I am in support however of having a page that follows this sort of sequence:
Article is VFD'd by everybody --> Restored to userspace --> Improved --> Vote is conducted to see if it's mainspace worthy after improvements.
~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) Icons-flag-au 22:45, October 1, 2011 (UTC)

Seeing those ponies makes me want to do an article called "My Four Little Ponies Of The Apocalypse". Someday.....but yeah, I hate to see someone actually put a decent amount of effort into an article after it gets ICU'd only to have it autodeleted. I thought UNmarine put a decent amount of effort into his Tsar Bomba thingy (enough to at least save it from the dust bin) but it still went poof. Not stellar writing but I feel like I've seen worse survive. It's back in userspace now. I just don't like the unfriendly nature of the summary deletions. It would be nice to try and develop potential without it being too harsh and unfriendly - even when people write less than Tolstoy variety stuff --DRStrangesig5 Sherman Fingertalk  22:50, October 1, 2011 (UTC)
Just to make sure I didn't hallucinate that, I see no "HowTo:Disable A Tsar Bomba" in the VFD archives. Again, not Moby Dick but a noble effort to save it from deletion nonetheless. he wrote like a little bunny/pony after I peed on it.--DRStrangesig5 Sherman Fingertalk  22:58, October 1, 2011 (UTC)

I don't get this... If an article was deleted, surely there was good reason and therefore the only restoration should be in the authors/rewriters userspace. If you have this system, it might make it easier to justify deletions and very likely for utter crap to be restored via bandwagon voting?--Sycamore (Talk) 18:13, October 2, 2011 (UTC)

What about things that get deleted through bandwagon voting? Or things that were deleted without any sort of voting? Surely there must be a few in the heap of articles that have been deleted through whatever process that weren't really bad enough to get deleted, right? All I'm proposing is a more formal process of getting an article approved for being returned to mainspace. Do you know Gresham's Law Socky? It applies here too. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 17:34, October 3, 2011 (UTC)
What are you trying to say? That bad articles in mainspace will drive good articles away to userspace? Sir SockySexy girls Mermaid with dolphin Tired Marilyn Monroe (talk) (stalk)Magnemite Icons-flag-be GUN SotM UotM PMotM UotY PotM WotM 17:48, 3 October 2011
As for "bandwagon voting," it's a lot easier to gain a keep majority through bandwagoning than deleting, and I have never, to this day, ever seen anybody use "bandwagon" as a vote reason without looking like a jackass. If some sort of undeletion thingy is ever created, it shouldn't be left up to popular vote. --Littleboyonly TKFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK Oldmanonly 20:30, October 3, 2011 (UTC)
What do you propose then? An admin-only vote? Sir SockySexy girls Mermaid with dolphin Tired Marilyn Monroe (talk) (stalk)Magnemite Icons-flag-be GUN SotM UotM PMotM UotY PotM WotM 21:38, 3 October 2011
Here's another thought: Similar to VFD, we could instate a minimum of restore votes required to get something restored to mainspace. So the page won't be too rigged towards undeletion. Answering Socky, yes. It would be worse than Japanese knotweed. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 21:07, October 3, 2011 (UTC)
While I might see how overall bad quality would negatively influence the creation of good articles, I'm not sure how that's relevant here. This is about restoring good articles, not the crappy ones. Alternative Lifestyles

One alternative is to have a vote for undeletion and a quick vote for mainspace. GiratinaOriginForme |Si Plebius Dato' (Sir) Joe ang Man on Fire CUN|IC Kill 800px-Flag of the Philippines svg | 05:59, October 10, 2011 (UTC)

Can we please have a voting page for deleting restored articles

Better idea

Socky...I agree with you that there is lots of bandwagon voting (and really dickish comments) on VFD (and on VFH for that matter) and some admins are overzelous to say the least with huffing [please dont ban me guys please please please]...but...as I have experienced a few times and quite dramatically a week ago...it's not a big deal to put it on your user space...work it over a bit (some need little time to make them better and all articles could be improved except Lollipop's which are perfect) and then put it back to the main space (without the need for votes or drama). While I would vote for this feature you are proposing, I don't suppose most people will and...we should also remember that there can just as easily be bandwagon voting FOR reactivating an article and possibility for more drama and admins arbitrarily making goose drawn rulings on split votes and other policy interpretation [please don't ban me people...please please please...I'm just a human being].

And now getting to the better idea

A better idea would be to have forum which lists users who are willing to help anyone who wants a deleted article moved to their user space (which admins almost always do on request) improved on, cleaned up and put back to the main space. I would be the first to sign up for that forum. --ShabiDOO 12:31, October 3, 2011 (UTC)

I don't think a forum would be the best place for this, as forums are meant for time sensitive discussions. Instead I would recommend using the Uncyclopedia namespace, and creating a page similar to Imperial Colonization. -- Brigadier General Sir Zombiebaron 17:11, October 3, 2011 (UTC)
