We have an article titled Anna Pavlova and one by Anton User:Anton199/Anna Pavlova. Anton's version of the same subject is better in my view. I recall not too long ago another writer requested to replace an existing article with his re-worked version. A forum like this was created. If I can find the link, I will add it here. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 09:52, May 30, 2013 (UTC)

The prior discussions of the competing articles, in chronological order, are at Uncyclopedia:Votes for deletion/Archive273#Anna Pavlova, at User talk:SPIKE#Anna Pavlova, and at User talk:Romartus#Anna Pavlova. I copy-edited Anton's article overnight to make the English read more smoothly. My opinion is still that the mainspace article is a compelling read that takes flagrant liberties with the truth, while Anton's piece is more faithful to the truth and not a compelling read at all. (Moreover, Anton stated on my talk page that a major motivation of his was to improve the portrayal of Russia, and yesterday he affixed an apparently official site notice to the top of several talk pages directing other editors to improve their treatment of Russia.) Anton's article is ready for mainspace--but not at the expense of the article already there. Spıke Ѧ 10:31 30-May-13

Perhaps we can have two then, Anton's could be renamed -Anna Pavlova and the Dying Swan? --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 12:12, May 30, 2013 (UTC)
I see no reason not to have two articles, and have them link to each other. -- Simsilikesims(♀GUN) Talk here. 22:39, May 30, 2013 (UTC)
Hmm....Robot Anna Pavlova? --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 15:40, May 31, 2013 (UTC)
I think that the original Anna Pavlova could be considered funny but I thought that the humor was irrelevant and I decided to put it for VFD, than to rewrite it (as Spike suggested). It is not because I am Russian (well, not only) that I am angry at the article. I would be as willing to criticize as if it would be talking about how all Americans are obese (another stereotype which was probably born before 1991).
My template, as I have already said on my talk page, was joking about the treatment of Russia (for example, one of the articles where I put is Battle of Normandy which is being rewritten now, there Russia has not been mentioned but the article was bad). Notice how I said: "It EITHER offends Russia, OR is just not funny". For those who don't know what I am talking about: the template I made is here.
Having two articles instead of only one which I dislike is better for me but does not accomplish my goal: to replace entirely the main one for the reasons mentioned above and on Spike's talk page (he provided a link to the discussion). If Spike thinks that my is still not good enough, I am willing to change it, add more jokes, etc. I will be working on it for the next few days and if I would understand what should be improved, this would be great. Anton came to my talk page to achieve a truce in any "civil war" and to ask if I was willing that he continue improving this page. Of course, anyone is free to improve any page and no Admin has the right to tell an Uncyclopedian or even I.P. Anon that he can't make a page better. The argument I state at the top, that the mainspace page is preferable to Anton's rendition, could be remedied by everyone just doing what we do well.

However, Anton has made quite clear above that his driving goal is not to create a good article but to dislodge from mainspace a "bad" article, and that "bad" is judged, among other things, by its veracity concerning Russian history. And again, Anton has sought to achieve this (once on this mainspace article that I like, and once on an article that I VFD'd and he voted to save) not through our established process but with the Move button. This is the only thing I object to.

Again: Most of us in the English-speaking world do not have a detailed understanding of Russia; it does not extend beyond Russian=Soviet, and there is a fascination with gulags and edicts and collective farms and mass famine. I have gently reverted the portrayal of U.S. states as "Soviet satellites" (excepting Massachusetts!) and agree that this technique, like Nazism, has become trite beyond its caricature appeal. But it does not disqualify any article, and can be cured short of deletion or move. Spıke Ѧ 12:40 7-Jun-13

PS--As at Volvo, where the author's (and probably the reader's) entire knowledge of Sweden is Ikea and ABBA. Spıke Ѧ 10:32 8-Jun-13
Can I move the original version to "Anna Pavlova (communist)" and mine to "Anna Pavlova (ballet dancer)"? Or the original one will be "communist ballet dancer" and mine - "ballet dancer"? And I will do the "Whoops" in both articles so they will redirect to each other. Anton (talk) 16:04, June 11, 2013 (UTC)
Do not move that article. See above. Spıke Ѧ 16:34 11-Jun-13
So what should I do? Anton (talk) 16:44, June 11, 2013 (UTC)
I can move mine to "Anna Pavlova (ballet dancer)" and make a link from the original one. Anton (talk) 16:45, June 11, 2013 (UTC)
Make it so. Spıke Ѧ 16:47 11-Jun-13

A related article

Hi, I just remembered that I wrote an article with things about Russia in it. Just thought I'd be honorable and let you know. --Reallybloodymental (talk) 00:37, June 7, 2013 (UTC)

A bit too 'red linky' but a polish and a haircut, you could run it past VFH. --LaurelsRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 10:52, June 7, 2013 (UTC)

Oh cool. Thanks for letting me know. I can make changes to it then. I just thought "Russia is not a very nice place to live" is exactly what you're looking for. lol P.S No comment on the hair cut. --Reallybloodymental (talk) 08:53, June 9, 2013 (UTC)
