This is advice, you don't need to heed it, but it'd be nice if you do.

There's no need to post the whole thing right there on the front page. Posting too much can be very intimidating, and the main page isn't there so that people can read several paragraphs and decide they don't need to read more. I find that just posting the introduction and, at most, the first body paragraph, is sufficient. It's what we've been doing for many years and it's been working fine.

Right now, the current featured article has about 3/4ths of it already on the main page. This is simply overdoing it. All we need is a blurb to draw people in. Thank you. --Littleboyonly TKFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK Oldmanonly 01:59, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Also, I've noticed that the admins are bolding links in the main page blurb that go to different articles. Why is that?   Le Cejak <2:01, 19 Jun 2008>
sniff If only Savethemooses were here, he'd say something witty, like, "Also, you should feature more of my articles. Again and again."  Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize  writings  SU&W) 02:02 Jun 19, 2008
STM IS THE PAST! We are the future. Specifically me. And to a lesser extent Dr. Skullthumper.   Le Cejak <2:05, 19 Jun 2008>
STM is the alpha and the omega. Mostly the omega...the omega moose (based loosely on the Chuck Heston film of the same name). Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 14:40, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
That's always the way with UnNewses. It's best to cut the blurb off at a point where someone will be intruigued to read more, not at any specific length. Some, it's better to put more, other less. But It's good to aim for a length that makes the two columns on the main page about the same length. Spang talk 03:42, 19 Jun 2008
