Cartoon Network or The Cartoon Network is, as you may have guessed, a television network that is formerly broadcasted by Ted Turner, primarily broadcasting cartoons. The network started sometime in 1492, and was aimed at showing nothing but cartoons nonstop, until your eyes burst. Most shows that that appear on this network have been sent by the Comedy Gods to eventually be canceled after 2-3 seasons. Cartoon Network better known as Cartoon Nothing. Cartoonnetwork 0

Cartoon Network (19922004), today known as Cartoon Nothing (2004–present) is a television network that formerly broadcast nothing but cartoons nonstop, 24/7, 365 days per year, until your eyes burst. It was pretty weak in its early years, but hit its golden age during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Many of their shows, including Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, The Powerpuff Girls, and Courage the Cowardly Dog, were sent by the Comedy Gods only to be canceled after 2-3 seasons.

Since the mid-2000s, what used to be a funny TV network for all-ages has been slipping. First off, they lost very good shows like Dexter's Lab and Courage the Cowardly Dog and replaced them with total and utter shit like Squirrel Boy, My Gym Partner is a Monkey, and Camp Lazlo. Secondly, the original Cartoon Cartoon Fridays we all know and love was replaced by a fucked-up Fridays with live-action hosts. Toonami and Adult Swim also slipped. Excellent productions like Gundam Wing, Sailor Moon and Samurai Jack were cancelled.[1] Adult Swim added Robot Chicken and has done nothing but overplay reruns of Family Guy.

In conclusion, Cartoon Network used to be good, but now they're shit.

edit Golden Age (1992–2004)

From 1992 to 2004, under the leadership of Betty Cohen, Cartoon Network was in its heyday, providing the greatest cartoons ever. During this time, Cartoon Network aired their two most popular blocks: Toonami, and Adult Swim. Toonami is the greatest block that has ever aired, and the greatest block that ever will air. It was created in 1997 by Moltar, a producer for Space Ghost.

From 2001 to 2004, Adult Swim was one of the funniest programming blocks around, mainly due to such genius-ness as The Brak Show, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Futurama, Mission Hill, Baby Blues, Stressed Eric, the first three seasons of Family Guy, Moral Orel, and Cowboy Bebop.

edit Crap Age (2004–present)

Unfortunately, in 2004, the network began losing very good shows like Dexter's Lab and Courage the Cowardly Dog and replaced them with total and utter shit like Squirrel Boy, My Gym Parnter is a Monkey, Camp Lazlo, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, and Blue Imaginary Friends.

In 2007, president Jim Samples forced to step down after the citizens of Boston mistook Aqua Teen Hunger Force lite-brites for bombs. In Samples's place came Stuart Snyder. Under Snyder, the network's budget was slashed and many of its good shows were taken off the air. In 2008, Toonami was cancelled because Cartoon Network executives decided they needed to make room for the "excellent" live-action programming they created. A crappy live-action block known as CN Real aired in its place.

As a result of these changes, everyone turned its back on Cartoon Network. While this was happening, Snyder's minion, Rob Scorcher, greenlit a load of bad shows like The Problem Solverz and Destroy Build Destroy. Once CN's ratings hit rock-bottom, Snyder cancelled the bad shows and decided to bring in some half decent ones like Adventure Time and Regular Show. However, it is unlikely that Cartoon Network will ever reach the heights it attained in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Toonami was briefly revived on April 1, 2012 on Adult Swim in honor of April Fool's Day. The joke was on Adult Swim as fans demanded that the network #BringBackToonami permanently. On May 16, Adult Swim announced that #ToonamisBackBitches (Toonami's back, bitches!) and will return May 26, 2012 @ Midnight ET.

These shows also at one time appeared on Cartoon Network, but were ousted by faster, stronger shows via the magic of natural selection. Because as of 2004, Cartoon Network is known for showing cartoons no one else wants:

 • Lupin III
 • Space Ghost Coast to Coast
 • Inuyasha
 • Sailor Moon
 • Gundam Wing
 • Dragon Ball Z
