Cartoon Network (19922006), today known as Cartoon Nothing (2007–present) is, as you may have guessed, a television network that formerly broadcasted cartoons. The network started sometime in 1992, and was aimed at showing nothing but cartoons nonstop, until your eyes burst. Most shows that appear on this network have been sent by the Comedy Gods to eventually be canceled after two-to-three seasons.

edit History

edit Golden Age (1992-2006)

From 1992 to 2006, under the leadership of Jim Samples, Cartoon Network was in its heyday, providing the greatest cartoons to kids ever. During this time, Cartoon Network aired their three most popular blocks: Miguzi, Toonami, and Adult Swim. Toonami is the greatest block that has ever aired, and the greatest block that ever will air. It was created in 1997 by Moltar, a producer for Space Ghost.

From 2001 to 2004, Adult Swim was one of the funniest programming blocks around, mainly due to such genius-ness as The Brak Show, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Futurama, the first three seasons of Family Guy, Moral Orel, and Cowboy Bebop.

edit Crap Age (2007-present)

Unfortuantely, in 2007, Samples was forced to step down after the citizens of Boston mistook Aqua Teen Hunger Force lite-brites for bombs. In Samples's place came Stuart Snyder. Under Snyder, the network's budget was slashed and many of its good shows were taken off the air. In 2008, Toonami was cancelled because Cartoon Network executives decided they needed to make room for the "excellent" live-action programming they created. A crappy live-action block known as CN Real aired in its place, and many of Adult Swim's original, actually funny shows were phased out in favor of such garbage as Mission Hill, Baby Blues, Stressed Eric, Tom Goes to the Mayor, Saul of the Mole Men, Robot Chicken, the new Family Guy, Tim and Eric, and Saved by the Bell. Adult Swim already began to suck in 2005, but 2007 was the nail in the coffin.

As a result of these changes, everyone turned its back on Cartoon Network. While this was happening, Snyder's minion, Rob Scorcher, greenlit a load of bad shows like The Problem Solverz and Destroy Build Destroy. Once CN's ratings hit rock-bottom, Snyder cancelled the bad shows and decided to bring in some half decent ones like Adventure Time and Regular Show. However, it is unlikely that Cartoon Network will ever reach the heights it attained in the 1990s and early-to-mid 2000s.

Toonami was briefly revived on April 1, 2012 on Adult Swim in honor of April Fool's Day. The joke was on Adult Swim as fans demanded that the network #BringBackToonami permanently. On May 16, Adult Swim announced that #ToonamisBackBitches (Toonami's back, bitches!) and will return May 26, 2012 @ Midnight ET.

edit List of shows

These shows also at one time appeared on Cartoon Network, but were ousted by faster, stronger shows via the magic of natural selection. Because as of 2012, Cartoon Network is known for showing cartoons no one else wants:
