“BeOS and I could have been so good together...”
~ Oscar Wilde on BeOS
“We chose plan A instead of plan Be!”
~ Steve Jobs on BeOS
"BeOS makes computing fun," say many. And they are all right, because BeOS did make computing fun. Putting BeOS in you computing experience was like putting gin in your tonic. But BeOS couldn't last forever. Nothing ever does in this world. They say, "The brightest flames burn out fastest," and they are right. Too right to comprehend
BeOS was too good for its own good, and this ultimately led it to its demise. BeOS' demise; a demise which will stay in the hearts and minds of our people for generations, and generations of generations.
[edit] Apple: Destroyer of Everything Good in the World
BeOS did its best to survive in today's ruthless software world, truly it did. But it could do nothing. In the business, we have this thing called 'Tall-Poppy Syndrome'. BeOS was subject to that syndrome, and a subject it was indeed. On its last legs of survival, BeOS turned to Apple Computers. It was cold, lonely, and it needed a someone, anyone, to help it get back on its feet. But Apple said no, and BeOS was left alone, legless and dead.
But if you're looking for someone to blame, don't look at Apple. You need not look any further than yourself, because you were the one who let this happen. You were the one.
[edit] BeOS Finds Eternal Peace
BeOS is dead. There's nothing we can do about that. Don't blame Apple, blame yourself. You are the real culprit in this unimaginably inconceivable crime. You let this happen. But there is something you can do. That's right, there is still hope. You can right the wrongs you have caused in this world. Just start using Linux.
