For those without comedic tastes, the so-called experts at Wikipedia have an article about 2006 Atlantic hurricane season.

The 2006 Atlantic hurricane season will not be taken lightly, as FEMA might have set aside some extra funds, just in case a hurricane actually DID hit this year. Like anyone believes that hurricanes hit land anyways.

This years Hurricane season begins June 1st. It was widely speculated that areas of America thought to be at risk of hurricanes would get off lightly as it would be the apocalypse on June 6th. People were wrong and the hurricane season is set to be a lot longer than originally prepared for. Within the season it is strongly advised that EVERYBODY SHOULD PANIC! LOCK UP YOUR CHILDREN WHETHER IT'LL HELP OR NOT! Kill the ones you love NOW before the HURRICANE GETS THEM!

edit What to Expect

A vague idea of what the hurricanes of 2006 will look like.

Hurricanes during this season will be short, violent and rather peckish. These storms are also expected to destroy cities that are built below sea level (and insult Seagulls, but no-one cares because they don't have a union).

People have already started to panic as has been advised so traffic on major highways leading away from the Gulf of Texas has already begun to pile up, with oxygen tanks ex- and indeed imploding from over-use by hyperventilating old people on Greyhound buses across the area.
