I surrender

I'm holding up a white flag here. I will stop spamming such stupid crap. I will also do some work. In fact, I will start working on my new ideas for pages I jotted down last night, if you would please releive me of this horrible ban. If not, I won't edit under IP anymore until my sentence is over. -- Kip > Talk Works Puzzle Potato Dry Brush CUN Icons-flag-us

I was about to have a change of heart, but this has convinced me otherwise.
Vandalising Wikipedia is bad.
Vandalising Uncyclopedia is bad.
Baiting Admins is bad.
Intentionally pissing people off is bad.
My preference is that you piss off for a good long time. If need be, I can burn your whole IP block, since you seem adept at getting new ones. I'd rather not, but it is an option. Goodbye. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 08/14 20:51
I understand that this is completely none of my business and I apologise for commenting but I have to side with Kip here. Yes I agree that Kip has done a lot of bad stuff and yes some if not all of that was uncalled for (paticularly the "Famine is a bastard" comment at the bottom of that page) and I also understand that you have to deal with a hell of a lot of Assholes around here; but Kip was trying to make amends for what he's been doing and maybe was trying to start afresh. I'm not saying that the ban should be removed altogether (because quite frankly he deserves one) but it would be nice if it could be shortened; then maybe Kip could try to start becoming a valued member of the Uncyc community. Please consider it maybe? --BonSig.png (Bonner) Icons-flag-gb (Talk). 21:48, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
And how do you know that Kip is trying to make amends for what he's done, and is trying to start afresh? Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 08/14 23:14
From two things; one from Kip's above statement, and two; from the way he was acting On IRC last night. he was extremely apologetic about what he's been doing, stating that he wasn't proud of his actions (I can't remember his exact words unfortunately). He was also adamant in stating that he deserved this ban. Also statements such as "I'm truly embarrassed and ashamed to admit this, but every once and awhile I have vandalised Uncyclopedia while logged out." from his "parakeet" subpage. As for the wanting to start afresh comment I once again point you toward his above statement. --BonSig.png (Bonner) Icons-flag-gb (Talk). 10:27, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
I think you're being very harsh on him Famine. I'm not going to unblock without asking, but I'm asking nicely if you could see your way to shortening it back to the length it started at. Kip is a useful member of Uncyc, even if he's often more inclined towards meta-humour things. Parakeet, for instance, was very popular, and I think just a simple warning shot is likely to put the guy off doing any more of that vandalism he's talking about (I'm guessing it only means a few articles created under IP, and haven't we all been tempted to?). And I didn't see anybody warning him about that logout link before taking action. Basically, I don't think he means any harm, he's just got that youthful exuberance that'll get squashed out of him once we sit on him enough times. Finally, pretty please?  :-) --Strange (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 23:58, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Well, that all depends on if he keeps on logging in and doing work under various IP addresses, or actually takes a breather. I'm more than happy to reconsider after a few more days. Unfortunately, repeated ban evasion is not a legitimate nor an effective way to mitigate a ban. I've banned him a half-dozen times in the last 4 days or so, and so far it doesn't seem to have had any effect.
I could be convinced if he took a day or two off, and said what he said above. But repeated ban evasion, even to say that, is a bit much. Hard to believe that a chap is reformed when he's wagging in your face "bans don't mean nothin to me" with a boatload of IP addresses. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 08/15 00:43
I had suggested to Kip to do some offline work. Doin' some edits for the greater good & emailin' 'em to an admin to show his sincerity that he wants to be a good Uncyclopedian while servin' his time. This would let the admin review the work personally. Hell, it doesn't even have to be an admin, I could help out as well. I love helpin' rehabilitate the delinquents that wish to help better 'emslves, cause I use to be one. Maybe there should be a program set up for this sort of thing. Maybe this idea is too fantastic. Sir, how is this set up in the preference? SpacerSpacerPremierTomMayfairChe RedPhone Unsoc Hammer and sickle22:07 August 15, 2007
If I'm understanding the above, SRXT is actually pasting into the page "{{User:SRXT/sig|time=the_actual_numerical_time}}. At some point in the near future, when I have more than 5 minutes to be on the internet, I'll figure out how to get that to be pasted into the page by clicking the sig button, and using the {{SUBST:CURRENTMONTH}},{{SUBST:CURRENTDAY}}, and {{SUBST:CURRENTTIME}} fields to automatically generate the timestamp.
Of course, I could be mistaken, and if so, it would be nice if he posted his nickname field in the preferences. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 08/16 13:48
Nope, you are perfectly correct, Sir Famine. But then it's still quicker then you you paste (or type) every time. I type it out because my username is short but I have no idea about Subst and Currenttime and stuff like that. Sorry. SRXT. 16/08 07.10pm
Ah. Tried Subst:Currenttime but that didn't work. Want me to get rid of the rubbish above? SRXT. 16/08 07.18pm
I've figured out a way to get it to work. If you create another subpage that contains the following: {{User:Famine/sig|time={{<includeonly>subst:</includeonly>CURRENTTIME}} {{<includeonly>subst:</includeonly>CURRENTMONTHABBREV}} {{<includeonly>subst:</includeonly>CURRENTDAY}}, {{<includeonly>subst:</includeonly>CURRENTYEAR}}}}
And then change your preferences to SUBST this subpage, signing with three tildes should work. (Actually, I think your timestamp is different than mine, but the important bit is the <includeonly> tags.) My subpage is at User:Dr. Skullthumper/sigsubst if you want to take a look.  Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize  writings  SU&W) 22:28 Aug 16, 2007

PWN'D!. I already worked that out 7 months ago! And mine automatically substs the date for you! Yeah, I'm good.
Though a more up to date version might be {{subst:nosubst|User:Famine/sig{{subst:!}}{{subst:#time:d/m/y H:s}}}} Then all you need to do is add a simple {{#if:{{{1|}}}|<span style="style here">{{{1}}}</span>}} to the end of your sig template. Easy! Spang talk 10:47, 16 Aug 2007

Weird. I tried that with my sig, and instead of it being nice and subst'ing the way it's supposed to, all that shows up is the code.  Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize  writings  SU&W) 23:11 Aug 16, 2007
Never mind. Apparently you just can't name the parameter, otherwise it breaks for some unknown reason.  Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize  writings  SU&W) 23:23 Aug 16, 2007
You can't name it because of the = sign; the nosubst template thinks you're trying to name the entire thing as a parameter for it, and it doesn't like that. You could name it if you changed nosubst| into nosubst|1=. But remember to keep the parameter in your sig template the same. Spang talk 11:34, 16 Aug 2007

I've been doing a lot of writing lately, currently, I'm rewriting Your mom, (If you want to see my rewrite, it's Here) which isn't going to be done a while, and I'm taking my time to do it correctly, per this, and also, I wrote 2 other articles, while improving my old articles Still, I won't vote all the time, and I'll continue to write articles. I'll avoid UN:UGM, and VFS at all times, where I think I caused the most problems and I'll still think twice on other voting pages before sumbmitting it. Hate to do a driveby before Famine has had his say, but can I just politely ask you to stop using periods as your headers? It's just a pet peeve of mine. Vote if you can be pleasant and nice to other people. But I'm more than ready to ban you for using periods for message headers. Generally, the message header is a word or short phrase used to tell people what they're about to read. It also helps organize a page. A period does neither. Some people liked the quaintness of the old one. And seeing as Russian reversal is now a disambiguation page anyway, why not? The purpose of the rewrite was for people who had gotten bored of the old one to make a funny new one. And now there's two new ones. And no need to get rid of the old one entirely (not to mention the thousands of hours work put in by thousands of contributors). I don't think it was ever that big a vandalism target, people just kept adding their own RRs. No real need for protection and certainly no need for deletion. Spang talk 07:49, 01 Sep 2007

IP Block

You (or someone) recently blocked the I adress 203.35.25.141. for the reason "feel the burn, yeah". Frankly, I have no trouble with this - I usually log in with my user name, but sometimes I just want to change around one or two spelling mistakes on a page or something, and I press "edit" and get that weird "you have been blocked page". It told me to contact Famine if I wanted to discuss the block. It's a school IP adress - so, there are about 500 people who use it, and it probably annots about a tenth of that 500. I'd like to know what "feel the burn, yeah" actually means and whether the block can be halted. --Andy the Idiot 03:49, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

The comment came from a user who was using this address to vandalize pages with "burned" and other such nonsense. Are you able to log in from school and edit, or does this happen only when you try to edit while logged out? Because I'm not inclined to remove the IP block, especially now that I know it's a school. Unless you can break some fingers, so that the bad kids don't edit any more. Bone_F_clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 09/03 12:36
You are probably thinking of the page Burn!, which was created by User:Drifter and was subsequently deleted. I happen to know that the person who is Drifter was the only one to edit this page, and many many times he forgets to log in. Only I and Drifter use Uncyclopedia for editing purposes at the school (we run a little club together... whoopee!). To answer your question, it does only happen while I'm logged out. I just wish I'd chosen a shorter user name. User:Andy of Comix, Inc. --124.177.31.175 10:47, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
I was actually thinking of a vandal who blanked pages, replacing them with "burned". Regardless, if you have a fair amount of technical aptitude, look up firefox on a stick - it's a method to install firefox onto a USB memory stick. A guy came on IRC earlier asking why his Ip had been blocked on Uncyc. he doesn't seem to have done anything wrong so we think it might be a side effect of a rangeblock. I've read the sig policy and know the 55 X rule, but does the rule mean that the sig itself can't be over 55 Xs, or that the sig + the timestamp can't be over 55 Xs? Not only that, but it was funnier than anything Edit page respresents. Forgive me if I come off rude, but what was dickery about it? Most of those "ban reasons" were highly exagerated, which is what made it funny. Despite the many things held sacred that are satired on this site, are the admins too respectable of a subject in which to derive any humor? Is that it? I was a little confused by what they were saying but they told me to come here. Can you respond on my talk page please? Thank you! OneCoolKid 19:46, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Apparently the Irish adore you

A picture I took I Cashel, Ireland, look for the section named after you...~Jewriken.GIF 11:12, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

I would like to know whether you have a crush on Jenna or not.

If you have a crush on Jenna, block me infinite. If you don't have a crush on Jenna, block me no more than 19 years. United American Airlines 13:30, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Asking for a ban on FAMINE'S talk page is just a bad idea. A very bad idea. Asking for a ban whatsoever is stupid, anyway. Marshal Uncyclopedian! Talk to me!
He's banned already. He was some sort of stupid Fonchezzz rip off. --THE 14:31, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
Now hold on one cotton-picking minute. Since when is asking for a ban stoopid? -- Kip > Talk Works Puzzle Potato Dry Brush CUN Icons-flag-us 11:06, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

 :-(

I miss you. *Sob.* You had BALLS. There are about 8 incidents I've seen where I've thought to myself, "If Famine was still around, he'd have banned that guy's ass off." Alas. I miss you :(. --THE 01:28, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Famine actually exists? I thought he was just a legend.  Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize  writings  SU&W) 02:02 Oct 24, 2007

Will see when I get a chance to come back in force. Probably not until late Nov or Dec, with all I have to do. I still poke my head in once a day or so, and I try to ban someone once a week just to keep my skills sharp.

If anyone needs anything, drop a note here - I'm not so busy that I can't do the occasional thing, but this place has had to take a backseat to a bunch of life-changing stuff at the moment.
