Sign below a picture you find excellent - new nominations go on top. Unsigned votes will be thrown out, and IP votes carry less weight than votes cast by a registered user, because anonymous IPs are pathetic peons in our eyes. Feel free to add an thumb + description + article. You may nominate and vote for your own images: such is the freedom of Uncyclopedia. Make sure your vote is clear, by using 'For' and 'Against' in bold type. Neutral votes are absolutely unnecessary. If you're only making a comment and not voting, be sure to note that.

Please submit only original pictures to VFP! Images cribbed from elsewhere on the internet will not be featured on the front page, though you are welcome to use them in articles.

For discussion about VFP see Uncyclopedia:Community_Portal/archive2#Here_we_go_again_with_Rainbow_Brite.

When nominating an image, the template Template:VFP should be added to the end of the entry using {{VFP}}. A featured article should have the template Template:ImageFP, using {{ImageFP}}.

Removal/archival of failed/expired candidates, as well as the decision on which have reached failure, must only be performed by the sysops who have nothing better to do than look at pictures all day, so leave it to them.

You can see all the featured images listed here, or on the archived voting page.

Rumble In Euroipods

The infamous "Rumble in Euroipods" was wrought with ego-related injuries.

I just made this picture, to be added to talk:euroipods. I think it's pretty funny (but I would say that), and it'd be great as a featured image. --Carlos the Mean 04:54, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Yes, it's self-referencing; yes, few people will get it; but it's hilarious, and I'm voting for it anyway. --—rc (t) 05:57, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Heh, I just noticed it says "VERUS" instead of "VERSUS" (on the original too). --—rc (t) 07:50, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)

YES! Definetly an inside joke, for sure; but seeing as I'm inside of it... --Putz 07:43, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Yeah. Maybe it will prompt a few people to read the Talk page (which probably should have been nominated VFH itself). -- T. (talk) 09:33, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Motion of a Cat with a Slice of Buttered Toast Strapped to its Back

Cat toast

Perpetual motion: Buttered down to a tasty science.

I loved the original, easy to understand caption that originally came with the picture, but probably wouldn't fit on the main page:

"To Determine the Motion of a Cat with a Slice of Buttered Toast Strapped to its Back: Let F_c be the attractive forces of each of the cat's feet to the carpeting (not shown), and let F_bt be the net rotational torque imposed by the carpeting upon the buttered side of the toast. By the 42nd proposition of Murphy's Laws, the system will begin to rotate in a counterclockwise fashion, causing the cat (C) to experience a large measure of confusion. The partially-melted butter (B), which is adhered to the toast (T) by comparatively weak Van der Waals forces, is overwhelmed by the large centrifugal fictional force, causing it to splatter all over the place (P). The spinning cat and toast (C+T), having thus divested itself of surplus butter, will then experience tidal drag within the Earth's gravitational field until such time as rotational equilibrium is restored."

If anyone argues about the quality, I'd be more than happy to create a newer version. -JBob 08:50, 6 Dec 2005 (UTC)

For Perpetual energy! --[[User:Nintendorulez|Nintendorulez | talk]] 01:42, 8 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Once the butter leaves the toast through centrifuge forces there is no longer attraction between the buttered side of the bread and the ground, therefore the whole operation will land with the cat's feet on the ground. Also, the total mass of the cat overcomes the total mass of the bread. It doesn't work unless the bread and butter together weigh the exact same amount as the cat, yet you still have the problem of butter dissociation. Cape Cod

This satellite image of Cape Cod reveals the massive hydraulic and mechanical systems that operate the arm. These structures are so massive that they are not recognizable from vantage points on the surface.

It's funny in context, and it's funny out of context. --Brett Bretterson 05:20, 26 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Hm. Is it verifiably original? Uvula Donor hasn't been around for a long time and there aren't really indications that he did the image himself. --—rc (t) 05:25, 26 Nov 2005 (UTC)

  • The bulk of the article was written by DWIII on April 11, and Uvula Donor added the picture 10 days later. Assuming the Cape Cod-as-giant-hydraulic-arm idea is original with DWIII--and please understand that I am far, far too lazy to actually ask him about it--it's hard to imagine a context in which the picture could have existed beforehand. (A Google search on "Cape Cod" and "hydraulic arm" has not proven fruitful.) I favor considering it original until demonstrated otherwise. --Brett Bretterson 07:06, 28 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Conditional for: If it is original, I cast my vote in favor of it. Personally, I think there's a little more in the image than needs be; the black border should be nixed, you could probably remove about 20% from the bottom of the picture, 30%-40% from the left and still maintain the effect. Alternatively, more gears and stuff could be added to the left. --Sir gwax (talk) Signuke 07:44, 26 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Heck yes. I can totally see my town on there and it's definitely part of the mechanism. I always thought Cape Cod was another state when I was little, but I never suspected it was a mechanic arm. --Katie loves you! 05:27, 27 Nov 2005 (UTC)
